How do i increase the screen brightness HP elitebook 8530p

Sounds like your keybinding/hotkey combo is not doing its job. (or your bulb in the display is going out)

You can open up Control Panel and adjust brightness from there.

Step 1 Click "Start ' Control Panel ' Hardware and Sound ' Power Options" to open the Power Options window.
Step 2 Click and drag the bottom "Screen Brightness" slider to the right to increase screen brightness and to the left to decrease it. Making this adjustment changes the brightness level only for the current power source; if you change power sources, the screen brightness may change again.
Step 3 Click "Change Plan Settings" on whichever power plan is currently selected.
Step 4 Click and drag the "Adjust Plan Brightness" slider to the right to increase brightness for each of the power sources, such as "On Battery" or "Plugged In." If you want high-precision numeric control, you need to access the advanced settings.
Step 5 Click "Change Advanced Power Settings."
Step 6 Click "+" next to "Display" and then "Display Brightness" to expand these options.
Step 7 Click "On Battery" and enter a percentage in the field provided. Choosing "100" will set the screen to maximum brightness; any other brightness will be a percentage of the maximum brightness. To increase the brightness, make sure the number you enter is higher than the current value.
Step 8 Click "Plugged In" and set its brightness percentage.
Step 9 Click "Apply" and then "OK" to close the Advanced Settings window.
Step 10 Click "Save Changes" to save any changes you made on the Edit Plan Settings page. If you only make changes in the Advanced Settings page, the Save Changes button will be grayed out. If that's the case, just click "Cancel."

Hope this helps!

No sound .. after i updated realtek high definition audio driver

"The line input is disconnected" it means you don't have a device (microphone) plug in to your computer. Please check if the speakers are properly connected to your computer. Also, please check the Sound section in the Control Panel.

PME-42S6WT-scrambled picture

I think this TV had a quality issue. I had the same problem [sounds the same anyway]. It was an assembly issue. the circuit board2_bing.gif in the middle twards the bottom was wedged in but not flat. the bend eventually caused the same type symptons. I removed the board, applied presure over a couple days, heated the board with hair dryer2_bing.gif and finally got the board to flatten somewhat. Also had to file one edge of the board to get it to set flat in its slot. Has worked since [over 3 years]. I do not recommend doing this unless you are prepared to throw it out, since this is very unorthodxed.

I have the exact same problem and sent an e-mail to Sampo in Taiwan today (March 3rd) with a technical explanation and description of the problem you have reported. I included information on the status of the LEDs inside the unit. My suspision is that the power distribution board has developed a fault. I am going to try to find out if a schematic is available to repair the board or if a new board can be purchased. I will provide an update when I have one. Glenn
