Nothing transfered from the lens (ccd) to the screen/memory card

Hello there. Recently i went sailing and dropped my camera in the water (freshwater). i took it home to dry, took the batteries out, took ou the sd card, then i let it dry for 20 days (just to make sure). then i try to turn it on, it responds as normally, but the screen is blank, except for the menu. So the lcd works, but nothing is transferred to it. how do i repair this, if it's even possible? I have opened it already, but can't see anything "wrong"

Thanks in advance

Since I'm not very rich at the moment, I still wan't to try and repair it myself. Any tips about what to look for inside, and how/what to clean ?

if everything fails, and the camera is irrepairable, I might just get a new one ...

Greetings Maltheskalle,

Units that experience water damage are normally irrepairable even after drying out. I would take it to a qualified repair center and have them give you an estimate on repairing the unit. You may find that replacing the camera is more economical than repairing it.

Sincerely,

Dorothy

This is not good, salt water is extremely corrosive and will destroy the camera in a matter of hours, I suggest pulling the memory card to save any photo's if possible and transfer contents to a computer.

Hi,
The possible solution's are
1 . First uninstall the photosmart software from the system and reinstall the software once again . Install in C: drive and then connect usb and transfer photos this will work . If this doesn't work then try in another usb port of the computer and transfer photo's .

2. Photo's will be in memory card ,better get memory card reader and take out the memory card from the camera and insert it into the card reader . Now connect card reader to computer and transfer photo's .

Hope this helps .

Fuji Finepix F30 Suddenly takes only all pink screens (no image)

This sounds like one of two problems -
Either an LCD screen problem or a bad CCD sensor.
A LCD screen problem would indicate one of two of the following - it was cracked, or the cable inside is either damaged or moved out of the plug and need to be reseated.

A bad CCD sensor would show a pink screen on cameras, but would also show menus on the screen as well, do you see those? The CCD basically captures the image the lens is seeing and translates it to an image the camera can save. Generally the CCD can not be replaced separately from the lens and will require an entire lens assembly for repair.

My camera won't turn on either....

Either the lens is out of alignment, or the CCD or worse has gone defective. Either way it sounds like it may be worth it to just purchase a new camera. You do always have the option of repair as well.
Thanks,
Lee

does it give you a lens error? are the shutter closed?
It is either the lens or the CCD.

There is a sensor behind the lens of your camera that takes light and converts it to electrical signals that in turn is decoded by the board. If the sensor is damaged, there will be no picture to display only what you have in the memory stick. Work on it. Good Luck

Nikon Coolpix L4

You have internal problems, possibly the ccd . Also there could be internal connections which have become loose.

Needs repair.

This may not be able to be fixed.
Sounds like internal trouble.
Could be a loose link internally. Could be some problem with the ccd sensor. If the colors change as you are trying to take a picture, then suspect the ccd sensor.
If it is the ccd, then Nikon may fix it for free.
I suggest you go to the Nikon website for your country, and call the (usually toll free) number for service and information.
Take care,
