Try function and scroll lock at the same time the try to enter the password, if this does not reset your keyboard, remove the power and the battery for 3 minutes then turn it back on and try again.

Toshiba Satellite C655 - numerous keys still do not work after replacing the keyboard twice.

Soft drinks are the worst, sugar! Unplug, remove battery, dissemble and get access to all connection to the keyboard, usually a ribbon cable, or other connector/plug. Use Electronic Contact Cleaner Spray on the connections and connectors. Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.

The keys on my laptop are stuck. They will not work

you'll need to replace the keyboard, it's relatively cheap. trying to fix a keyboard with sticky keys due to a spill or anything else isn't cost or time effective.

My keyboard is not working especially a ,f ,j ,l ,g. how do I fix this? help

Every day your computer is exposed to dirt, hair, dead skin and other kinds of grime. This can drastically affect your keyboard's performance. Removing your keys is a simple and effective way to clean the inside of your keyboard and improve keyboard response. This is a simple operation and should only take a few hours if done correctly. This is important to anyone who wants to know how to properly remove their laptop's keyboard keys.
1. Print out or draw a keyboard map of the location of your keyboard's keys. Turn off your computer.

2. Position the laptop so that it is under a lamp or so there is sufficient light shining onto the keyboard. You want to be able to see all the dirt that is under your keyboard.

3. Take the end of a flat-head screw driver and carefully pry any of the letter or number keys off, preferably starting with the "Q" and working your way to the right. The letter and number keys are easier to remove than the command keys.

4. Collect the removed keys into a container so you do not lose them. Take special care when removing the tab, caps lock, shift, space bar, enter, forward slash and back space buttons. These buttons are attached to a small metal pin. It may take a little more effort to remove these, so be patient.

5. Feel free to clean the inside of your keyboard once all the keys are removed. Take a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of alcohol and wipe the areas around the keys to remove the grime and dirt. Use tweezers to remove any bigger bits and pieces of dirt or hair.

6. Refer back to your keyboard map and put your keys back into their right location. Position each key in the center of the plastic connector and press around the edges till it clicks. Feel around a little till it is tight and secure.

I hope you find it very helpful.

I have an acer aspire and my document cannot be edited because the back space and delete button are not responding.

If they are still unresponsive after a reboot it is possible that the keyboard keys have gone bad.

Bad news, The keys themselves cannot be replaced, the entire keyboard must be replaced.

No so bad news. You can get a replacement keyboard for an Acer for about $15-$30 (plus install cost). Any local shop should be able to replace it in about 10 it 15 minutes.

If you are ambitious you can replace the keyboard yourself. Find and order it online, then just google "replace acer aspire keyboard". There are a number of sites with instructions on how to replace it.

For right now: You can hook an external usb keyboard to the laptop and it should work without problems, until you can get the laptop keyboard fixed.

Acer laptop spacebar fell off

The space bar key is connected tothe keyboard a little bit differently then any other key.
clip_image002.jpg
There is a metal retainer connectedto the space bar key (on some keyboard models). Separate the retainer from thespace bar key with a flathead screwdriver.
clip_image004.jpg
Install the retainer back inplace as it shown on the picture. You have to engage the retainer with thesmall hooks on the keyboard.
clip_image006.jpg
Put the space bar key back inplace and gently press on it with fingers until it snaps back in place.
clip_image008.jpg
That’s it. The space bar key isinstalled back in place and should work as before. If you still cannot fix yourkeyboard, then you’ll have to find a new oneand replace it.
Pleas rate my solution on fixya if you are done.
