Depending upon what the problem is, parts should still be available for units of this age. Please update this with the model number as well as the problem and I should be able to give you details.

What is the problem you are having?

You have defective componnts in the preamp or output sections. Is the level of noise effected by the volume control? If not, the problem is in the output amp section and is probably a defective transistor in the driver stage. This should not be an expensive repair. If the noise level is effected by the volume control, the problem exists in the "front end" and will be a little more difficult to trace. That being said, the cost to repair should not be high. Figure on $15-25 for parts plus the local labor rate for the repair cost.

HP M3027 noisy or grinding from back of printer

As of August 9, 2011 this service advisory has been extended beyond the expiry date listed below so you are still able to obtain a repair if your fuser is noisy.

If you have an HP M3027 printer that is very noisy either with a growling sound or grinding sound coming from the back, you might qualify for a free repair on this product. HP has had problems with the fusers on this product failing prematurely and as such offer a replacement fuser to clients who own this product. To qualify your product must meet the following requirements:

  • page count must be less than 150,000
  • Serial number must fall within the service range, which HP can verify on the phone, however I have not had a unit yet that was not covered.
That is it, date of purchase is not a factor to obtain a free repair for your product. Simply call HP at 1-800 HPINVENT and ask them to issue a case number and provide you with a local repair depot contact. Do not delay on this as the current service advisory is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2011.

Akai apc 40 is squeaking when turning on. the squeak changes in order how many LED are on. is not the power suppyl. it comes direct from the power plug in just next to the usb port...

You may have a zener diode failing, or just plain noisy on the power input board. If you are not using the original power supply, this may be why- the voltage may be a little higher than the design planned for.

If you open up the unit you may hear the noisy component with a drumstick held to one ear with the other end touching ecah component in turn until you find the most noisy component- then replace it.

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

Below is a link to common solutions that will help you with parts and diagnostic procedures that are specifically tuned to your manufacturers data plate information.
It provides exploded view imagery, belt routing diagrams, parts imagery and function, parts ordering and shipping information, error code details, just about anything you need to get your appliance up and running again. Once you access the site you will be able to navigate numerous pages of information on your product. You will need to enter your model number to access your product information.

Tip: Always provide the complete information provided on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the user’s manual. This will help you acquire a more accurate and expeditious response to your complaint. I will post the most common solutions to your complaint. For more specific information please refer to the tip and/or link provided. Here are some things to look for:
If your dryer is noisy, check these:

Rollers
Idler pulley
Glides
Rear drum bearing
Blower wheel
Rollers Many dryers use rollers or wheels to support the clothes drum. When these rollers are worn, they can be noisy. You should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time.

Idler pulley Dryers have a tension or idler pulley that keeps tension on the main drive belt. When it's worn, it can be noisy. When that happens, don't lubricate it. Just replace it.

Glides Many dryers use nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn, they can be noisy. When that happens, replace them.

Rear drum bearing Some dryers support the clothes drum in the rear with a center spindle instead of rollers. The spindle may be a ball-and-socket type support or a shaft through a sleeve. When the components are worn, they may squeak, squeal, or rub. You can't repair them. Just replace them when they're worn.

Blower wheel Your dryer's blower wheel pulls air over the heat source, through the clothes drum, and past the thermostats, then pushes it out the exhaust duct. The blower wheel, which is usually plastic, may wear out over time. But if it's noisy, it may simply be clogged with lint. Clean the blower and test to see if the dryer is still noisy. If it is, you probably need to replace it.

Noisy operation, picture flickers in record and play back. Auto exposure problem? Like camera is trying to fix apeture to compensate for light.

The problem is a bad CCD inside the camera. I have 3 bad ones in my classroom. Sony was providing free service for some of their other models but failed to provide service (recall) on these models. I think it is important to contact Sony at 1-866-703-7669 and ask them why they are not providing support for this model since it has to do with a bad chip inside the camera. Sony should stand behind their consumer products and keep in mind that some people who use the consumer brands also use or recommend the professional brands to organizations like WEVA and others. If they do not support the consumer line products, will they support the more expensive industrial or professional products? Let's go Sony...fix these problems...there are too many of these cameras which have gone bad to say that it is not a CCD problem.
