Almost any machine can be used to sew tee shirts. all you really need is a stretch stitch and overlock stitch which event the most basic machine has these days. try using an old shirt that you no longer wear and try different stitches, stitch lengths until you are satisfied with the results,

SOURCE: sing a Futura Sewing Emboidery Machine, how do I

This I do quit often, just pull the shirt away from under the foot as you go, pause the machine every now and then and readjust the position of the shirt, it is time consumming but it really works and using the correct stabilizer with spray on glue as well as the plastic stabilizer on tob, (pin this very tight on top of the shirt) you get a beautiful result.

SOURCE: How do I do a stretch stitch?

The bes way to hem a t-shirt on a household machine is to use a double needle, straight stitch. You will see two straight stitches on top and zig zag on the back. Just make sure the zig zag catched the top of the hem.

My continental ce10131 mini electric sewing machine will not make stitches. Why?

Hello again Camron
Page 3 of the manual shows threading. The thread goes over the and inbetween the washers. It is the grip of the washers that governs the tension. Cotton shirt is an ideal test medium.

It is referred to as a 'Child's Sewing machine'!

It wont stitch tee/shirt material it misses stitchs

If machine misses stitches consistently, it can be several things.
Needle not installed correctly, not threaded correctly, Bobbin case not installed correctly, make sure the bobbin itself is inserted correctly and spinning in the correct direction.
Finally, machine may need service the timing is off. All actions of a sewing machine are carefully "timed" to form a stitch while sewing. Sewing things that were too heavy for the machine or you hit the bobbin case while sewing can knock the machine out of adjustment.
Let a professional do the maintenance on your machine. Some may opt to show you how to do more in depth maintenance yourself at home.

Working wth cotton t-shirt maerial, but my thread keeps breaking and my stitches are skipping what should I do.

You need to use the correct type of needle for that fabric. The needle has to have a rounded end not a sharp. Also use a slight zigzag not a straight stitch. The thread needs some give or the fabric will keep popping.

How do I sew a hem with the singer overlock machine. I just want to hem a t-shirt.

You need to look in your manual and see how to turn your cutter off . It's different for each type of machine.
