Id your motherboard also has onboard video, and you have a graphics card, make sure that you try both connections. Chances are if you are using a graphics card and your computer thinks your using onboard, then you will get the no signal or vise versa.

Systemax SYX-SBT-X58 desktop. Is there a front power switch part for tower or another alternative available?

I can't see how holding the button a little longer would make any difference, the button press sends a quick little signal to start the BIOS operating system built into your motherboard. Maybe you just need a new switch as it could be shorting somewhere when you press it a certain way. You can remove the wires from the back of the switch and touch them together to see if the pc starts. If that is too complicated then i would suggest taking it to a store before any real damage is done.

My scepter flat screen computer moniter keeps flashing on and off. It is hooked in correctly, however, even when the tower is off the screen flashes on, then to standby and then to just off. The whole time...

try to use the menu buttons of the display/screen to reset it to factory defaults and use the auto-adjust option if available. this often resolves common issues specific to the screen itself. it can help help to remove the power cord from the monitor then hold its power button for about 10 seconds to drain any power and test it again using another video cable. you may also want to observe if it flashes when not connected to the video cable and when plugged in to a different power outlet and cord.

I turn on my Aspire ax3400 and the fan works but the screen says no signal

Same model, same problem. I found a thread (here?) that said the power button itself is the problem and sure enough, I took apart the front assembly and manipulated the pushbutton toggle until the computer powered up w/ the blue light. The power button assembly is really jammed in there - maybe that's why it's failing.

My monitor is black and the power button is flashing blue, ...

If the screen is black or blank, but an error message such as No Signal displays on the screen, the problem might be related to the video signal, also check the power to the monitor, test the video connection between the computer and the monitor to make sure it is connected correctly, and connect the monitor to a different computer.

Nothing comes up on the screen

The monitor connected to the system is set to receive video signals from the DVI port on the video card and it is not getting a signal.

Possible Causes:
  1. Monitor is connected via VGA (Blue Connector). Fix by using the input select button to select DVI input)
  2. The video cable is not connected to the correct port on the system (Or not connected at all)
  3. The monitor is on, but the tower is not powering on or failing to complete the Power On Self-Test (POST). It the power LED on the tower is NOT on, or solid or flashing Amber then the tower is not posting. Flashing amber is normally a bad power supply, solid amber is the motherboard.

Green light blinking screen blank

Hi Suzee,

Is the green flashing on the tower or the monitor?

If it is flashing on the monitor, then it might be tht the monitor is not gettign signal from the tower.
To check, disconnect the monitor from the tower and check the monitor. If you get a msg on the screen like no input signal or check video cable, then 99% monitor is fine.

Check for the power supply light at the back of the tower.

Disconnect everything from the computer and then press and hold the power button on the comp for about 30 seconds.

Then connect the cables and check if it is working.
