I have had this flash drive for about 4 years now. REcently when i plug it into my computer it says that the disk needs formatting even though i have been using it and it has files on it. Is my disk just too old? or do i need to download some sort of update?

These drives to this on occasion. It will even get to a point when you will see that message on one computer then plug it into another computer and nothing will show as being wrong. This is usually a sign that the format needs refreshed because of the nature of writing and deleting files from it all the time it has a tendency to develop corrupted files and sections. This will also happen if you've removed the drive without following the proper sequence of stopping it and using the windows remove function.

My flash disc is unrecognized by the pc

Try inserting it into a different USB port, or try one on a different computer. If that doesn't work, you'll have to resort to formatting the disk to continue using this flash drive. (Formatting deletes all the data on the disk though).

I cant access and format my pendrive even though nothing show in pendrive but when i go in properties option then pendrive memory show full please give me solution of this problem

Go to your Desktop. Right-click on My Computer and select Manage. On the left-hand pane there should be an option for Disk Management under "Storage". Click that. Look for your drive. You can usually recognize it by it's size.

There are several things you can do from there. You can reformat it, and assign it a drive letter. Or maybe it may need to just initialize. Usually you can play around in there and get it to work.

If it does not come up, chances are that either 1: Flash drive is bad or 2: USB port(s) is not working.

Flash memory probably corrupted, you may need to format to get it useable, you will lose data but you can try a data recovery app which should retrieve most of the data even after formatting.

My Iomega Rev drive keeps ejecting the disks I put into it. It has been backing up reliably for a few years now and recently it started ejecting every disk I put into it.

FWIW, I had the same problem...here's what I did.

I would insert a disk and it would get ejected immediately...didn't even look like the light in the eject button would flash. Rebooting the drive and computer didn't work.

I inserted a disk.
Before it could be ejected, I pulled the plug on the Rev Drive.
I waited several seconds
Re-plugged in the rev drive.

It seemed to read my disk and I was able to use my Rev drive. (So far so good...knock on my wooden head.)

#1
Insert your ( memory card , flash disk , cellphone , .... ) into your computer.
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Flash drive failure

You need to format your drives. Even though you delete files on them a small amount of data remains each time. After so long the data builds up and clogs the drive.

Insert a USB with a problem
Go applications, Disk utility
open disk utility, then you should see the USB disk in the utility screen. click on then click format. It will kill all data on the USB and make it usable again.
