- I have a Dell 17 " monitor as well and the same thing happened to
me about two weeks ago. Whenever I went to turn it in the power light
just blinks and there is no picture, It is a LG Phillips LCD monitor
from Dell. Model number LM170E01. Please help. P.S. ?Took it
apart and no apparent damage. All Capasitors looked good and no burn
smell. ?

I have the same problem since few days ago.
At times the monitor would fix itself but now the green light keeps on blinking and it doesn't turn on.

If you move the mouse or type on the keyboard will the monitor turn on again? Your computer's screen saver and power saving settings might be set to shut down the monitor after 4 hours for power saving mode - this can be changed in the Display Settings window (assuming you're using Windows) by going to the Power Management window and changing the time period from 4 hours to "never". This feature is actually good for saving electricity and extending the life of your monitor.

I vacuumed all vents in the monitor and the CPU and it seems to work.
Let me know if vacumming works for you
