Whites are dingy. Random stains appear on my husband's dress shirts that weren't there when I put them in the wash. We have a water softener; don't know if that plays into the problems. Please help!

Put washer through a clean cycle with bleach only. Check to be sure you are using HE soap. Check the bellows(door seal) make sure it is not jamming clothes.

I'm getting small orange spots/stains on my clothing after washing them in my Maytag washing machine. it is a 2010 machine too. Any thoughts as to what could be causing the stains?

Unless there is a child's crayon or something similar causing it, then suspect that the agitator shaft seal, or the drum seal is leaking oil into the drum. Hopefully, there is still warranty on the machine. Good luck!

Strange yellowish circle appearing on white shirts

i believe the stains are actually semi burn marks. If you are drying your whites try a lower heat setting. i had this problem with my kenmore dryer before too. Got bad especially with towels. Make sure your vent is not clogged and your filter is cleaned regularly to let the heat flow better. should help.

My Whirlpool duet sport machine occasionally has "stained" laundry. I can't figure out what causes it since I don't wash colors and whites together. The stains appear to be blue. Could this be a fabric...

Make sure you are diluting the fabric softener before putting it into the dispenser drawer. Full strength softener will sometimes stain clothing that's why in the owners manual they always tell you to dilute it first before adding ,plus it last a lot longer and is just as affective... Hope tis helps

Was so proud when my husband brought home te

I wouldn't blame it on the washer but did you have the same problem with your previous washer? Are you using the same water source as previously. Do you use a chlorine bleach with it and did you use it before? Is the cheer a liquid or powder. You should us a powder.

I live in the country in NC. My water is well

For brighter, softer, stain-free clothes, add 1/2 cup Arm and Hammer® baking soda to your regular detergent in the wash cycle, then add 3/4 cup Heinz® white vinegar to the rinse. Soak really dingy clothes for ten minutes in the baking soda-detergent mix before washing in the hottest water fabric will accept. Vinegar smells should vanish after clothes have dried. Many online voters said that this worked best.

My cloths don't come clean.....whites are dingy even with bleach. Normal stains on regular colors don't come out. If you put more than one pair of pants or two long sleeved shirts in a load they come out...

First I would start by cleaning your washer system with vinegar. Ran your machine like you would without clothes and pour a cup of vinegar like you would with the soap for a whole cycle. If this doesn't work chances are your drain is clog or your pump isn't working properly.

My whites are not comming clean and are not a bright white

I don't know if this is a solution to your particular problem but when we wash whites, first, we wash them twice, with hot water, second, we dont use bleach!!! (this will eventually yellow them). Third, we dont use liquid softner. For the whites we use a softner sheet in the dryer. Since we started to use this procedure I have noticed a marked decrease in areas such as under arm stains in white under shirts. I have some that are 2 years old and have no stains or yellowing like this. Hope this helps

LG washer (WM0532HW) whites turning dingy grey

I too have a front load washer. The problem is that it's not washing off all the soap suds. Try this. After a complete cycle, soak the clean clothes in a container w/ water and you'll see there's still soap suds coming out of the clothes. I tried running it several wash cycles and there was still soap left on the clothes. I think, it's mfg defect. We should all complain to the maker of the machines.

Whirpool Duet Front Load Washer

It may be the same problem we have, that the fabric softener is leaking before it's supposed to in the cycle.
If there is water left in the tray, the suction is not broken, and the fabric softener will immediately start leaking into the drum.  To stop this, we lift the fabric softener/bleach cup up out of that water to break the seal.  Leave it up for a few seconds.
That seems to do the trick.  Although, in my opinion, it should not happen to begin with.

Miele W1119 not cleaning white clothes properly

liquid detergent is a pain and not as good as powder. liquid detergent often makes machine smell as well i doubt there is a fault with the machine. try putting on a boil wash with no clothes and this will clear out the slime left behind by the liquid detergent. you didn't say what colour the stains are but iy grey or brown it could be from your water supply - a more common problem than you might think. turn off water and remove the supply hose. there should be a gauze filter at one end and make sure not clogged with dirt. also look into the spigot of the vavle and see if any muck there.
