Question about Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z700 Digital Camera

1 Answer

"whiteout" My exlim started to give what I'd describe as "whiteout" - ie pics just come out as if totally overexposed - when in the Himalayas trying to capture snow scenes. I resolved the problem by zooming in slightly for each pic, but this sol'n has now failed, and even at max zoom the pics are no good. I've run through the settings trying to ensure that all are reset to factory default - and have run out of ideas..... Seeing past correspondence about trying to get these fixed - esp near Cairns - Australia - I don't hold out much hope. Your wisdom and advice appreciated thks Drew

If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation),and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.

Can't repair by yourself.
It's need repair camera machine shutter.

Over exposure

I had a problem with overexposed pics as well as horizontal lines. Try initializing you camera ( return to factory settings) by clicking menu and then scroll down until you see "Initialize". If that doesn't work, then do a power reset (This fixed my problem).
1. Remove battery from camera.
2. Hold power button for 60 seconds
3. Replace battery, and try taking pics.
If neither of these resets work, then you should try chatting with a Sony rep. You will your model number ( DSC-H70 ) https://www.docs.sony.com/startchat.asp

I have an Olympus 1010. I took a few pics of my son, changed his outfit, and now all the pics are white, like they are overexposed. I have played with every setting on the camera with no luck

What happens if you try to reset the camera back to its factory settings. Does it still overexpose the images? TO reset the camera go to Menu - left arrow to Reset - press Ok - up arrow to Yes and press Ok. The camera will now be back in factory settings. If the images are still overexposed, it may be a repair issue with the image processing functionality.

Casio exilim digi cam repair

I think we have the same problem with the Exlim s600 model, if the camera take picture outdoor, the picture is almost white, with horizontal line. I have taken it to the repair center at Compex, Quezon Ave., They say the problem is in the camera CCD lense. which cost P7,500 to fix. A new one Casio 8.1 meg pixel, cost just about P8 to 9T. I bought mine March 2006, Use it for only about 35 times. got a feeling these camera were made to be broken just about after the warranty expire.

Camera overexposes on daylight and recorded images have hoizontal striping

I would take it off of automatic mode and adjust it manually.

The Samsung camera I have doesn't work very well in automatic mode under indoor conditions. It will work in automatic under outdoor conditions.

Hope that helps.

Time for new flash??

the camera's light sensor or metering system, for correct flash exposure is no longer working, that's why your shots is either black or white (overexposed or underexposed) the flash firing has loose its control because of the defective sensor, it now only depends on the charge current of the flash capacitor. If you'll wait longer time the charge is maximum picture result will be overexposed(white), and vice versa, less charge, dark result, have the flash assy replaced. Daylight no problem, it doesnt use the flash circuitry, thanks
