I have a Sharp Aquos T.V. and right now the picture is fine but there is no sound coming from the set. I have checked the cables and they seem to be all right. I cannot imagine what could do this. I rarely watch this T.V. and bought it about 2 l/2 yrs. ago

I ran into this problem on two of these sets and it turned out to be a heatsink which is located beneath the main p.c.b. What happened is the putty that they use as a heat transfer compound melted and in turn the heatsink slid down and touched the main p.c.b. causing a no sound condition, or intermittent. There are a hundred screws and major disassembly/reassembly required so plan on spending a half a day. You may find an open resistor or burnt surface mount component on the board so take your time before reassembling and look for burn marks on bottom af board. As I recall there are two boards that have to be removed just to get at main board and then you pull it out to reveal a metal heatsink not secured to anything. Good luck, your welcome, Russmann.

Try unplugging the TV for 2 minutes and then re-trying to power it on again and see if audio returns. Is this connected to a cable box and other types of inputs? Make sure if there is a speaker on/off function in the menu that it isn't set to off. Also can you give me a model number so I can look up part numbers if needed.

I have a 52 inch sharp aquos t.v. I turn the set

Your pictures power supply may have faulty capacitors on it. Or you could have a surface mounted component that has broken free at one end.

Solving your problem involves having your tv inspected by an electronics tech who hopefully can fix the unit at your home.

Otherwise, there is very little you can do as a consumer.

Good luck and be careful.

Your reciver is already set for the hd. Alls satellite programing and cable already come in hd format. You can also get any info here.

Plays dvds on xbox 360 fine, but no picture for games/dashboard

already solved it. thanks. i couldn't see the xbox settings blade because of the blank screen so switched my component cable to the tv setting instead of the hdtv setting, then i could see the dashboard in non-hd and switched the resolution to 720p while simultaneously switching the component cable back to the hdtv setting. that worked.

I have a sharp aquos LC-42D62U. It shuts it's self off and then after a few minutes it seems to reset it's self. You then can turn on the power button and it will turn back on. What is the problem? Thanks ...

is the picture and sound perfect while its on? how long ago did you buy it? under warrantee? if picture and sound is perfect while its on powersupply may be failing, i would get it in for service before something cooks itself.

I have sharp Lc-32D41u aquos tv. When I turn it on the picture leaves after about 2 seconds, but not the audio. Turn it off & on 4 to 5 times, the picture will stay on.

i had the same problem with this sharp, do not try to repair you are going to waist your money
here is what the problem is : the sound card is bad, you replace it and the same thing is going to happen again and again and again, not even sharp techs know what causes the sound card to go bad. the best solution for this problem is to get a receiver and some speakers and get the sound out of your cable or satellite box.

ps: the sound card is $260.00 and with that kind of money you can get all of this things that i told you
good luck

I have an Sharp Aquos flat screen tv and it is randomly 'blacking' out. The picture dissapears but there is still sound and i can still use the remote. I have it hooked up through a set top box, but there...

If the unit is still under warranty take it back for refund or replacement. If your tv is not under warranty, then you have a problem with the inverter board or the bulbs (ccfl) are bad. I have seen the inverter board and the bulbs be bad. Good luck to ya!

Sharp Aquos LC-20B6U-S TV NOW HAS NO SOUND OR PICTURE. IT APPEARS TO COME ON BUT WITH NO PICTURE OR SOUND.

This can be caused by many different things. Check power supply fuses. If ok suspect inverter board which drives screen. Check for bulging capacitors and open transformers or just find replacement cost using numbers on board. That may fixya.

I CAN'T GET MY AQUOS LC-52SE94U TO RECEIVE A DIGITAL READ ONLY AN ANALOG ONE AND THE PICTURE ISN'T AS SHARP AS IT SHOULD BY

I called Sharp and they said that you cannot use a coaxial cable. You need to use either an S-Video or HDMI cable. That fixs not only the digital but also the mono audio issue (instead of stereo).

My Sharp Aquos TV turns itself on and off. There is no picture most of the time, and the audio comes on briefly. The power light and the OPC light flash simultaneously at times. The remote only works...

The Sharp people told us they have had 35 complaints in my area about the Cable company signal (Cablevision) screwing up these t.v.s. Seems the digital channel settings are not compatible with the signal. I tried to confirm this with the cable company and they have no plans to fix anything on their side. If I unhook and re-hook the cable, the t.v. seems to work again. This is annoying because it happens on ABC where my favorite shows are!
