That isn't popping up on Canons website as a good model number. Can verify that again?

I went onto Canon's website and I'm not finding that model number anywhere. Most if not all Canon DV camcorders sold in the US start with model number ZR.

Can you please verify that for me?

    Is it a DV camcorder?

There is a lock on the SD card located on the left side of it. Usually it's a little white tab. What happens when you reverse the position of it and put it in the camera?

I wonder if the card is too big for the camera to read. Whats the make and model number of that camera?

This is one of the most common problems but can normally be solved if you give the metal contacts on the card a clean.  Try the card in other devices or on the PC if you can to see if it works then.

The GL2 works with SD cards. Your 16GB card is an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You need to use an SD card, 2GB or smaller.

Memory card error

The GR-DF570 uses SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot it's electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

If you need a manual, you may download a copy here.

If my JVC-GRHD1 won't record on an SD card which type of card do I need?

This camcorder will use SD cards. However it will not use SDHC cards such as your 16GB Lexar card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I just insert a 4G micro card and says card error. Everything else works fine for 3 years ( never put a sd card before ). Thank you in advance Miguel

Check your mini SD card and see if it has the SDHC (high capacity) logo on it. Originally SD cards, including the mini SD, had a 2GB limit by protocol. The DC10 was introduced when this was the most advanced protocol. Since then the SDHC protocol has been introduced, but the DC10 is not compatible with SDHC. You need to get a mini SD, 2GB maximum capacity.

When I turn on my Jazz DV 152/ T20 it displays "Read card..." and then nothing happens...I have a 4GB SDHC card by SanDisk...both camera and card are new....is this a faulty camera or am I doing something...

Usually the first thing you need to do with any SD card and Camera is to go into the settings of the your camera and Format the SD card. This has to be done for each memory card you use with that camera. i.e. a SD card formatted on a Panasonic HD camcorder won't work in your Jazz Camcorder. The formatting is different between the two camcorders. New SD cards don't come formatted.
SO try inserting the SD card into your Jazz Cam and rummage through the setting until you find your memory settings. From there find the Format Memory Card function, format the SD Card and you should be good to go.

What is the error message you are getting?

Have you formatted the memory card?

Card Error

From what I know, and card over 2gb needs a different reader. in this case, I am guessing that the card is an SD card. If you look carefully, you will see HC right below the SD logo. these are High Capacity SD cards, totally, different from traditional SD cards. so what you need to do, is find a 4gb regular SD card (highly doubt one exists) or get a smaller regular SD card (2gb Max I think)
