Nintendo Wii, just like DVD players are region coded, and USA and UK have different regions. I have heard that this is possible by using some hacks like Homebrew, a simple Google search should provide more info on that topic if you'd like.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Games discs purchased in the USA do not work on the UK model? Message on screen "could not read Disc"

The Wii console is designed to only recognize the disc in that region.
If you insert a disc from another region, the Wii can't read it.
You live in the UK, for example. If you insert discs that aren't purchased in the UK (like the USA), the Wii can't read it.

Can i use a american wii in uk? do i use a convertor or a uk ac adapter would do? thanks

You will not be able to play any UK games on the wii if it is american unless you have a swap disc like freeloader:

I'm not sure if you'd need a US version of this disc though to do so.

Wii fit plus game disc will not load up - it is a replacement - it seems to run and then stop and the 'please insert disc' message comes up - any ideas please?

Your laser reader inside of the Wii is either dirty or needs to be replaced. Try cleaning it with the following wet lens cleaner (NEVER use dry cleaners on Video Game Systems - it can ruin the laser). If this doesn't help, your laser or DVD drive inside of the Wii may need to be replaced. The same website sells the parts if you need it -- but if the disc is reading them stopping, it may just be a dirty laser lens:

Own wii from china can i use wii fit board from uk.Due to work and having to live in asia purchased a wii in china now back in uk will i be able to add wii fit board purchased here in uk

The Wii has a region lock on it. This means that you cannot play games from any country other than the one that the system comes from. There are some sites that show how to unlock the region code which would them allow you to play any games from any countries. This would of course void your wwarranty if you still have one. If you don't have any esperience working with game consoles like the Wii you should then contact a local shop and get them to do it. Your local console retailer will have a list of places that are local to you.

Unable to read disc

If (1) this error only occurs with the Wii Fit game and (2) you have no scratches or marks on the game disc and (3) you have cleaned your Wii with a lens cleaner product recently; then, most likely the Wii Fit game disc is bad. It's not your Wii.

here's the problem: the wii fit game is 4.7gb. Most wii games are 4.4gb. Burning a Wii game at 2x speed is fine if its 4.4gb.

For Wii games that are 4.7gb (full size of a DVD disc) the games must be burned at 1x speed or errors will occur.

It is likely that Nintendo burned these at 2x speed and therefore your wii is getting an error due to them incorrectly burning the disc.

Disc not reading on wii machine

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

Usa wii console will not sync wii uk wii fit

The UK Wii Fit would be the PAL version and the US Wii is the NTSC version. I don't doubt that there is something preventing then to sync seeing that they are from different territories. You will need a North American Wii Fit in order to use it with your North American Wii.
