GR-D73AS SHOWING ERROR E03 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE EJECT AND REINSERT TAPE BUT FACING THE SAME PROBLEM

E03 error shows problem with tape loading mechanism, eject the tape and look for pinch roller is in its place or not. Usually pinch roller came off from its position and tape can not be drive.
Pinch roller is small round part, made of black rubber that helps the capstan motor to drive tape in forward or reverse order.

1. The idler gear does not engage with the reel disk well.
2. Though the idler gear and reel disk are engaged with
each other, the tape is not wound because of overload
to the mechanism.
3. No FG pulse is output from the reel sensor.
4. No power is supplied to the reel sensor.
5. Tape transport operation takes place with a cassette
having no tape inside.
6. The tape slackens and no pulse is produced until the
slack is taken up and the tape comes into the normal

Hi,
If camcorder accepts normal MiniDV tape without any problem and you can record or playback it correctly then please try another brand video head cleaning tape as existing head cleaning tape might be not good that is why camcorder rejects it.

JVCGR-D270.Digital Camcorder. When we put the tape in the cam it chews the tape whiles loading and says that it's in 03 safe guard mode. Please help.
