Try to put operating system in computer comes up with overclocking failed error how do i reset or fix overclocking problem

hit F1 or DEL right at boot repeatedly until it enters bios. look for cpu/frequency, perhaps underneath "chipset" or "advanced" settings. lower the cpu/frequency a little, until it boots, or look for "auto" settings for the cpu/frequency and ram speeds.

System failed due to cpu overclocking. Not setup for overclocking in the bios.

Reboot, and enter BIOS SETUP mode.
Choose "Load Default Settings".
This will "undo" any overclocking of your motherboard and of your CPU.

Hello When trying to turn on my pc I hear a mesage from the voice genie, saying that there is a problem (your CPU might have a problem, I think). I have amd sempron 2500+ socket a albatron kx18d...

Have you tried removing the Cmos Battery? if not remove it and leave it outside for few minutes (5 mins) and reinstall it (do this while the Machine is off). Boot the system again. It's also important to re-seat all the components like, front panel connectors, usb connectors, audio connectors, hard disk, cd/dvd rom, processor, Ram, fan, power connector, etc... and clean whatever you can and then reconnect or reinstall them. If there's no actual cpu failure or motherboard faulty, your problem will be fixed.

I wonder where's that Genie voice came from :-)

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

System fail due to cpu overclocking, voice message on reboot, after turning the adaptive overclocking feature on in the bios. I cannot clear cmos and get back into bios to turn it off again. I have tried...

Disconnect the power cable, press and hold the power button. Open the case, remove the cmos battery and short the cmos battery connectors (just touch both the metal tabs center and edge at the same time) with a screwdriver. Replace cmos battery, reconnect the power and power on. This should reset the BIOS to default settings.

i have just thrown out 3 ASUS boards for various problems. they seem to last approx 18months before they die.
video output goes wrong, cpu socket errors, all sorts of problems and a rubbish tech support at ASUS does not help.

I get a message over the speakers System failure from CPU overclo

Hi there
Try resetting the CMOS either by removing the battery from the motherboard for 20 mins and make sure the power cord is removed from the back of the machine. When you put the battery back you will have to set the time and date again

Good luck and kind regards

Home built 4 yr old pc wont boot

You have voice message telling you CPU test failed , but does it BEEP at all ? if you have a Beep code then replace the CPU fan ( when CPU gets too hot it will either shut down or the PC will not boot up at all )

a quad Q6600 is manufactured @ .273 overclocked from the factory. at no time should this cpu ever be overclocked anymore unlessd you are using a watercooling system that keeps the cpu @ 69 degrees for stability. anything else will burn it out. lala linda

Overclocking failed

Hi, If you have overclocked: 1. CPU or motherboard not up to it - run at default speed; or 2. Memory - try using other memory; or 3. Video Card - see if you can run the Video card at default speed and not with overclock speed; or 4. You may need to up the CPU B+ a bit. If not overclocked: a. Set BIOS/CMOS to default settings; or b. Disable any overclocking feature (even if not used); or c. Lower you CAS latency. Hope this be of some help/idea. ood luck and kind regards.
