No Installation CD

I lost the installation CD for my Sansa e260 and my computer does not recognize the device. I cannot transfer anything to the device! Is there any way I can download the CD online or get a new CD?

My computer wont recognize my USB

Hi,

Try the following steps:

Resetting the device:
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.

If that doesn't work, then you may download and install the Sansa Firmware Updater and update to the latest firmware.

Sansa clip code 10 error

The solution for a Code 10 error is always to unplug the mp3 player from the computer, uninstall all software related to the hardware (in this case, uninstall all Sansa-related software), restart your computer, reinstall all software from the installation CD (you can also get it from Sandisk's website if you have lost the CD), restart the computer one more time, and THEN replug the mp3 player.

There MIGHT be an easier way - you can try running the Sansa Recovery Tool - but Code 10 is almost universally an uninstall/reinstall situation.

My new computer doesn't see sansa e260

I had this problem and downloaded Windows MTP Porting kit which fixed the problem. The forums at real.com were also a huge help.

Sansa e260 says connected but device not recognized

I agree with the above suggestion. Try setting the USB Mode under "Settings" on "MSC" on the Sansa. My computer would not recognize the e260 when the mode was set to "MTP"; works fine on "MSC".
