Red light's around on button should be green light

This issue is the infamous "Red Ring of Death". Unfortunately you will need to call Microsoft to get it repaired. They can be contacted at 800-4MY-XBOX for a price estimation.

If you only get a flashing green light on the center while you turn on the console. You should get a green light going in a circle around the center light, (the 4 other lights, that can turn red as well (famous Red Ring of death))
if you don't get any red or green lights around the flashing center ring, then the console is not able to turn on / boot up properly and is in need of repairs, check the powersupply led, what color is it? it should be green when you power on and orange when not in use.

If you have 4 lights, check your A/V cord. 3 lights is the Red Ring of Death. Call Microsoft. They have an extended 3 year warranty for this problem. hope this helps AJ

ring of death sorry you can try this get a towel rap it around the xbox turn power on at the xbox leave it for 15 minute turn the power off take the towel off leave to cool down for 15 minutes it should work good luck

this is a common problem

all you have to do is check the av lead in the back of the console

make sure its firmly in place not wobbly

should fix the problem

2 left red lights = overheated

3 red lights = broken

4 red lights = av lead disconected

My xbox 360 has three red rings and one green in the middle

the 3 red rings are the worst and there is no way to fix it, i tried wrapping a towel around it and leaving it for an hour or so and that worked for me... the is a good old xbox remidee, but if that dosnt work then call the hot line and you will have to send it off.. the usually have it back in about a week

Flashing red and green light in xbox

You have a major failure on the motherboard. If it was your hard drive the system will boot up, but freeze on the main screen and you will hear clicking coming out of the hard drive. Red and Green flashing lights means there is a problem on the motherboard. Sometimes you can fix the problem by reflashing the Bios on the main motherboard.

Full ring or partial? Full ring usually implies that your power supply or AV cable is not inserted properly. 3 lights, that's a whole other, more costly problem. Reply with clarification.

A little more info 4 red = A/V cable not fully pluged in .I f the Power Supply
in not fully pluged in you Get nothin Right?? 3 reds is cased by a dissconecteing G.P.U. the cost is around 60.00-90.00 on average
so shop around for some one local.
