It looks like my screen wont turn on, and I thought it was broken. It still takes pictures, but the screen isnt working. Nothing major happened to it, it seemed to have come from nowhere. HOWEVER, I have since noticed that in direct sunlight, you can see movements!! It may be simply that the screen is set to very dark. HOW DO I FIX THIS??? I WANT MY SCREEN BACK!!!

I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not
see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else
worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback
I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told
the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito,
CCD malfunction, common with Sony manufactured CCD chips. You are in luck, its a free repair regardless of warranty date. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=223&modelid=8044#
As my camera is still under warranty I took it back to Jessops. The camera is now with Olympus for repair. The technician in Jessops hazarded a guess that the problem is a broken processor sitting behind the lens and as such the problem is "really bad".
Faulty main or secondary board. Could also be faulty light sensor or iris. Not a user fixable problem unless you can get another f601 with a broken lens etc with good boards (to replace boards). Or a dead camera with good lens assembly (contains iris). Very fiddly if you have the parts!!!!!!
