Rotel RA-1060 on off problem

Got barely any water in the top vent, and now I (think) that it is over heating, because it gets VERY hot, but I'm not sure if it got that hot before. Here is what it seems to be doing though, I can listen for about 5 minutes, and then it begins to switch on/off, but not in the sense that the power goes on and off, rather the speakers go on and off (or what it seems like.) It never did this before, and I am not sure. I have opened it up, let it dry out and stuff, still seems to be doing it. Checked the 4 fuses, and they are all good.

Thank you very much.

You might have shorted something on this inside with the water. But if overheating is the problem...add a DIY fan from a PC which works with 12v too.

I have a rotel amp model no is ra-313

I'm guessing you don't know for sure that it even needs fuses. They don't go out like they used to, as everything is controlled by a microprocessor(computer within your unit). I would suggest, that you, with the power plug pulled out, use an ohm meter to be sure that each fuse is shorted. Try interchanging the speakers. If the right channel works, you have a problem with your speaker.

My Rotel RA-935BX blows out the fuse on the power socket during operation, after repair the fuse, it is blow out as Rotel power on, what's wrong?

It seems you have a short circuit in your unit. Further attempts at switching it on are not advisable as more damage will occur. Get it checked out by an electrician who can test from the plug for a short circuit.

I don't believe that Rotel service manuals are available outside of authorized service centers. Can you provide us with the problem that you have? Perhaps we can guide you through the repair.

Thanks,

I have a rotel RA - 820B x 3, that has stopped working.

Hi Nell. It is serious. Unless you are technically inclined, it needs to be checked out by qualified person. It will be fairly expensive to repair. Get an estimate.
Thanks

Problem with Rotel RA 870

Since it is a Rotel, it is a good unit and worth fixing. At this point, you need to take it to a good repair shop and let a qualified tech look at it. There are no user serviceable parts inside and if you go poking around in there, you WILL make the problem worse. Rotels' are nice units and represent a good value in stereo gear. Take it to a reputable repair shop that repairs Rotel under warranty. If thats not available to you, then a good repair shop should be able to get you going. Good luck...Rob

Instead of replacing you can try and clean it. There are a lot of good contact cleaners out there.
