KF42WE620 Red picture

All of a sudden the picture has a red hue to it. The set is about 4 years old. Have tried all the adjustments in the manual, resetting to factory settings doesn't change anything. Is it the projector lamp ? Thanks !

Then mine went away the next day but I would guess that the lamp is living on borrowed time. I am going to replace the lamp. Thx.

It's definitely not a lamp problem, it sounds like an optical engine problem. This has been reported and solved in other posts here.

Hi, Our Sony Bravia TV model number KDF E50A11E is not working. There is a red blinking light flashes three times and then goes green and then red blinking again after about 3 seconds. Is this a bulb...

On that particular model I believe there is both a lamp indicator light and then the power indicator light. If it is lamp related the lamp indicator light (LED that looks like a sun in a cup...) would be on.

If the power indicator light is flashing red to green, that is a self diagnostic code, and you will have to contact an authorized Sony repair fascility for them to translate the problem. The error codes are not listed in the user manual, since most are not user serviceable.

I have this exact same problem. I even put the old lamp back in to see if it was the new lamp and the same fuzzy orange/redish hue was still there.

Tried to turn it on? Sounds like you need to replace the lamp. However, I got an additional week out of my unit. Although poorly dimmed and the red Lamp light blinked constantly for that one week, at least it gave me enough warning to seek out a replacement. But so long as you're not mistaking the Power/Standby or Timer light for the Lamp light then I would have to agree with you. http://store.l-f-l.com/prod/A-1606-034-B Includes shipping to the United States and no sales tax outside of California.
