You will need a set of external speakers connected to your computer.

I purchased a X2gen 15'' monitor and can not make the speakers work. Do I just need to purchase a ''y'' audio connector and plug it into the audio jacks for left and right speakers? bjsworld

If there are ports to plug a cable into, you need to connect the monitor speakers to your PC via those ports. A Y cable would probably do it. The standard monitor cable does not carry sound to speakers in a monitor.

I have no sound.

Hello. Your monitor come with two 3-watt speakers. I'm not super familiar with this particular monitor but, most monitors are alike in functions(there are only so many ways to do the same thing! lol) Anyway, the first thing I would do is go into the menu and look for the settings which pertain to *audio*. Normally, monitors give you the option of setting them to use either their internal speakers(which is what you are wanting) or using external speakers. The only video input you can use is a 15-pin "d-sub" connector(also called a vga connector). There are no audio signals in the video cable that is attached to the monitor. You'll have to connect audio from your computer to the connections on the unit. Usually, (I say this because modern whiz-bang video cards have everything on them now) there is a set of *audio-out" connectors that you would use to connect a set of speakers. And, most probably, you can access a menu(like double-clicking the little ATI icon in the lower right corner) and it will bring up a group of options menus to let you customize your display. Your system might have it's own separate audio card and, again, you'd have to run some cables up to the display.Hope I helped you!---Rick

IMPORTANT NOTE!! On checking out some specs for your monitor, I came across the x2Gen site. They're under chapter 11 and are no longer supporting anything--be it warranty or anything else and are directing folks to talk to the store where the item was purchased.

My PC has no volume, I've tried everything I can but still no volume. Now wondering if it might be the monitor (x193W) but can't find where to adjust volume on monitor - Can you advsie please?

The full specs on the product note that there is no audio output. I just purchased the same model and am returning it because while it has power, VGA and DVI connections it does not have audio connections, which means no audio output on this unit.

This monitor does not come with audio correct?

Yes you need to purchase outside speakers & hook them up to your soundcard in order to get sound from your computer. Another option would be headphones. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

No sound coming from my Dell 173FP monitor

This monitor does not have built in speakers you will need to buy some... The AS 500 soundbar fits on to it but is now not available. See if you can find it second hand.. Or buy USB speakers that fit into the back of your PC as the mointor does not have any ports.
