Color on Advent HT2751A model that stays red, green, and pinks and it wint change

I My Advent HT2751A tv wont change colors. No matter what I do with the the different option in the menu. i have an advent hd tv monitor 1080i or L080i serial number HT2751A. i turn the tv on and the screen is black with red, green, etc. colors or it turns black with white lines running horizontal in a choppy motion. i took the back off and was messing with the black wire going into a rubber black round piece at the top of the tv with two little wires going into the tv, and it looks like one of the wires is broken. when i play with it and touch it back to the tv the picture is better is that the problem? and if so how do i fix it and where do i get a new part? and whats it called? thanks in advance.

SOURCE: advent 32" tv flat screen

It's likely one of two things. There are drive transistors on the CRT board which control the output to the guns, the one that controls the red gun may be open, also check this board for burned resistors. It could also be a bad picture tube although this is less likely. If it is the tube, replacements if available are fairly expensive.

SOURCE: screen is red

jmeek: unfortunately there's not much you can do about this one. it's either the red gun in the crt has shorted, because of impurity build-up, or the driver for the red gun is shorted. either way it's repair or throw away time. tv repair shops used to carry a picture tube reconditioner that would zap the color guns in the crt to burn-off the shorts. it's doubtful they would have a socket that would fit your crt, but they might. they could possibly find a replacement for the driver if it's defective. but given the low cost of lcd's, that's i would be going. be sure to recycle the monitor correctly. please don't just toss it in a dumpster. there are computer part recycler's thru-out most of the US.

peace-out

The color on my TV is all pink. I have tried a hard reset but it didn't help.

Your TV has lost a GREEN color from a basic color palette (Red-Green-Blue). It is often caused by:
- damaged LCD cable (which connects the display with a signal board inside the TV),
- damaged video signal cable (ex. SCART, HDMI, VGA),
- damaged video processor (on the signal board).
I can't give you a more accurate answer, because I don't know what is your TV mark and model and, in what situations you have the problem.

Advent tv displays green

If you are saying no red: The model indicated here Recoton Advent Advent Q1435A TV is a 14 inch set.

first it may be cheaper to replace than repair--That said if no red look to the small circuit board at end of picture tube (it plugs onto the tube).

It will have either individual output transistors or a single IC.

What (if only one color missing) I would look at is the bottom side which faces to the rear---a circle of solder connections--possible one is broken--there will be one for each red, green, and blue--not always easy to see but if any of the solder connections look cracked or even broken loose-----

Good day.
Your unit is still worth. It may be a caused of loose contacts along the circuitry. It can be remedied by resoldering the terminals particularly the chroma section and the crt circuit.

Picture problems

CRT green gun is not working properly , maybe dry soldered or no green drive signal. Pink and red colour is due to missing of green colour.
