Question about Kenwood KRF-V5060D Receiver

1 Answer

Kenwood kr-v9020 This is an old receiver and can't find anywhere else to post my problem. It's with the remote control for the volume. Everything else works with the remote except my volume up and down buttons. But it's not the remote, cause when I push the up or down button the blinking light on the volume knob of the receiver blinks, so it is getting the signal. Could this be the motor of the volume knob, if so, is this an easy fix, or does it have to be done by a repair shop? Thanks I hope someone can help

You should find out who does the service for your reciever in your area. This type of fault can get fairly involved. It will require trouble shooting and then ordering the necessary parts.

The fault can be the motor, or the electroncs in the servo drive amplifier for the motor.

My kenwood kr-v7030 won't turn off anymore with remote or manually.

Either the remote battery are flat or the frequency settings have changed. You can check with the manual the type of frequency it uses to match the that of the Kenwood. Sometimes there are switches you can change to adjust the correct frequency. Others have a learning code set by the manufacturer and are usually in the operation manual. If you want to test whether the remote is transmitting the signal to the Kenwood or not, Please do this...

If you have a digital camera or smartphone camera, switch the camera on and look at the viewfinder or camera screen; for smartphone, in a moment, then point the remote to the camera lens and press the volume button, which keeps sending the signal to the to control the volume of Kenwood system. If you see the infrared light on the remote flashing, then the remote is fine.

Now, about the smartphone camera. Start the camera and switch it for video capture (filming) and then point the remote towards the camera lens, and likewise you should see the remote light when doing the same tests as you with the video camera. If the infrared light lights up when pressing on the volume, the remote is fine.
It could be Kenwood, which requires factory repairs, not by you.

Where on the Kenwood KR-V5580 do I connect a sub woofer

Wherever the unidentified subwoofer's manual recommends. As there are no volume-controlled pre-amp outputs it would have to be a model that accepts full-range speaker level input if you want to control its volume locally.

Yesterday, I connected two speakers to my Kenwood KR-V7070 Receiver and it worked fine but today I can't hear anything coming out of the speakers. I may have pressed a wrong button on the remote. Also,...

Tell us some details about the speakers.

Familiarize yourself with the controls. Understand every indicator on the front. There may be a clue there. Turn the volume to a medium or low level before changing any settings or you may be in for a BIG (and costly) surprise when you find the one that was in the wrong position.

I'm just trying to find out if the Kenwood KR-V7050 has an optical input for an adio connection for a Blu-ray player.

Sorry, no digital inputs at all. It's a stereo receiver from the 80's.

I have the KR-V9020 and it is probably among the most feature-laden pre-digital surround receivers built. I still use it in a bedroom even though I have a full-blown 7.1 rig in the living room.

Sound problem

Try cleaning the volume control with an electronics switch cleaner spray. If that does not resolve the problem and it seems to happen at low volumes more than load volumes, then the output relay needs to be replaced. Keep us posted. Dan
