THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS HORRIBLE. THIS IS MY FIRST DIGITAL CAMERA. THE CAMERA CLAIMS IT IS FULL BUT THE DVD HAS NOTHING ON IT. I AM ASSUMING THAT THE INTERNAL MEMORY HAS RECORDED THE SUBJECT BUT HAS NO MORE ROOM. HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD TO COMUTER OR GET IT TO RECORD TO DVD?

I just bought one of these camcorders and it only records to the memory. You can copy to the SD card and then move to a computer. The mini-DVD doesn't appear to work at all---so, it must be for show. Also, what I purchased doesn't have a CD in it...but it won't do any good since you can't hook it up to the USB port anyway. Another interesting observation, it will record with the lens cover on---which means the actual lens is the small dot just under the "normal" lens cover. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK!!!

Ok, discovered a few things. You guys are absolutely right. I looked in the side compartment for the DVD, there is nothing in there to do the recording, so yes....it is for looks. The "lens" or what you think is the lens in fact is just the viewing tube to sight the picture. The actual lens is the little dot below the tube. Cam is very light sensitive and will pixelate badly if you try to zoom in on anything.
However, I did figure out that you have to have the knob on the side set to USB in order to pull pics off camera. I agree with the above post.....it is a piece of junk!!!!

Install the software, then Turn the mode (on the side of the camera) to the USB mode, then plug the USB cord into the camcorder and into the computer. You should then be able to transfer any video or pictures to your computer (follow the onscreen prompt, or got o Windows Explorer and drag or view the images from the new external drive, mine was drive G:, that popped up in your drive list on the left). This camera has an internal 32 mb memory, or you can insert an SD card on the bottom of the camera to store more info.

The manual sucks

- Does anyone know how to pause the video while taping, not stop the video, but just pause - so you can resume with the same file???? Mitsuba DV9002 model

- INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS ON THE CD:

A better/complete instruction manual for this camcorder is on the actual cd disk that comes with the camera. This disk is stored in the DVC disk looking compartment on the side of the camcorder. Open up the compartment to see the small disk.

NEED A SD MEMORY CARD not a disk:

This camcorder is digital and does not use a mini DVD tape. You can use the internal memory or insert a SD memory card into the bottom of the camcorder.

You do not need to use the cd to transfer movies or pictures off the camcorder. Just plug it into your computer

DOWNLOADING MOVIES OFF THE CAMERA:

To download the movies to the computer you have to plug the USB cable into the computer etc. and turn the mode knob on the side of the camcorder to the USB mode (the picture/mode right after the "play" mode and before the picture that looks like tools) Your computer should start to automatically recognize the camera.

Go to windows explorer on your computer. RIGHT CLICK Start...and click EXPLORE. And look in the left frame for a drive that says "removable disk" double click this drive and double click the folder in this drive. This is where all of your movies and pictures are stored.

If you don't see this drive at first, click "MY COMPUTER" in the left pane. You must also have the camcorder already set to the right mode BEFORE you plug the USB cord into the side of the camcorder.

I was told by the seller that the DV9002 would record to the Mini DVD but have been unable to get it to do so. It also will not download from the Camcored to my computer. I am able to record to the SD Card and then use a Card reader to transfer video to my computer. I agree the instructions furnished with this camcorder stinks.
