Question about Sony Televison & Video

I have a VGA cable and would like to watch DVD's from my PC on my Sony LCD. The movie plays great on my PC; but I can't get anything to show up on my TV, what should I do?

Make sure the refresh rate and pc resolution is set at the levels suggested by the manufacturer, and that you have a compatible vga card

You need to buy Sony DVD Recorder and hook Sony VCR to that dvd recorder and burn DVD directly. You can also watch VCR tape movie on TV via dvd recorder while its being burn on dvd.

Watch movies from computer to tv


look on the back or sides of the unit. it should have a hdmi cable hookup, it will look like a monitor input, then you have to make sure you set the tv input to that. then you have to set your laptop to add another monitor to be able to use it.

There are products such as VideoSecu PC to TV Presentation Converter. I haven't used them. I'm not sure you are going to get the resolution that you want. A DLP projector does a pretty good job. I know that is not what you are looking for.

Type "PC to TV Converter" in Google. They are about $40 to $60 bucks. Before you buy one, read the reviews.

the bose has to be hooked up to the cable box output and video 1 on the bose. This is the only way it will work

Using a VGA cable to the 'PC in' VGA on the back of the TV, this has worked fine for multiple screens, but now there is colour distortion when watching movies via the laptop on the TV screen, help?


Can you describe the "distortion" that you refer to? Also, were there any changes to the laptop when this occurred or did this just suddenly appear?

I've just purchased an InFocus x10 and i'm having problems playing my ps3 on it. Playing movies through my dvd player is fine but when i switch it over to the ps3, it is having problems detecting the...


I have the same problem. I actually get the initial language choice screen showing up on my X10 and then once I select a language, the PS3 says that it detects an HDMI device and do I want to get sound and video through HDMI. I say yes, and screen goes blank. Saying no, screen also goes blank.... Any solutions to get past this screen?

I had a similar issue, try adjusting the advanced settings on the DVD player.....I can't recall which settings it should be on, but when I adjusted them on my upconverting DVD player everything worked fine after.
