You could use MIcrosoft backup feature and just back up the files you want to on the one touch or you can simply drop and drag the files you want on the one touch through my computer. Hope this helps.

This may not be the best forum for this question.
I would get on Maxtor's web site and see if they have an on line tech support 'lnstant messenger type of forum' and or E-mail them with your question.

My maxtor external hard drive has done a scheguled Plan b backup but files that I removed from my master hard drive to free up space because I had them saved on my external hard drive are now missing from...

When a file is delete, it's still there on the drive, just as before; all that happens is that the file table marks it as free space and changes its name so it's no longer visible. There are a number of "undelete" utilities available, including several good ones, like asoftech data recovery that helped me before:

Maxtor OneTouch 4 took a slight tumble whilst usb was plugged in ! Now the usb connector in the rear of the hard drive is lose and won't hold the cable. How easy is it to repair or replace the connector?

You can do it yourself if you have a mini soldering gun and thin solder made for electronics and have solid knowledge of how it is connected. Sometimes it may be cheaper and easier to buy a new hard drive case if you dont own the right equipment. Also, the hard drive must be removed from the case before attempting this.

Help with Maxtor onetouch 4

The Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini is a portable hard drive, with USB interface.

What you have to do is, just connect your Maxtor OneTouch 4 MiniT to the one end of USB cable, after that insert he other end to your laptop USB por.

Wait for few moments your operating system will read your new connected portable hard drive.

After that you can find a new drive letter in your My Computer, thats for your portable disk drive.

thanks
