Audiovox ACD-24 auto AM/FM CD player came with the car. Radio works fine. First time I put an audio cd in it played fine but would not eject the cd. Pressing the eject button caused the word "eject" to show on the screen for a few seconds then it commenced to play again. I tried the eject button maybe 50 times on two days to no avail. Then on the third day it worked. Visual inspection showed no obvious problems. Is there a mechanical ejection procedure using a paperclip?

Your CD reader must be damaged. You will have to manually take the CD player out of the cradle, and take it apart. This should be easy. Once you have the top off the CD player remove your CD and put it all back together again. You can by lens cleaning CD's from walmart, K-mart..any mart. Run that through and see if it helps. Once CD player is back in the car, hit eject to make sure the player knows it has no CD in it anymore.

Not nessecarly take it apart make sure power is on
on the front under the plate there is a little pin hole you push in with a straightened paper clip all cd players come equipt with this it pops the gears and pushes disk out you will have to use little pin and its usually positioned right side under cd slot
or you can disconnect the power and connect it again at battery this has helped some times
or take old aol cd push in gently on other cd this could release the cd

Cd stuck in player

depending on how its mounted/what type of car you have... detach the face plate and pop off the trip ring, then (if you still have them) the keys that came with the radio along either side of the radio and it should slide right out. if you don't have the "keys" 2 butter knives can do the job in a pinch.

At electronics stores you can buy a CD player cleaning kit that includes a disc you put into the player that is designed to clean the lens. Since the lens in most vehicle CD players is fairly inaccessible, that may be your only option.

CD is stuck and eject button doesn't work

Unplug the cd player and open the unit up by taking the top cover off..there will be screws holding it on on the underside. You should be able to retrieve the cd from inside. Your track is broken, you will need to replace it.

CD will not come out

It looks to me like the cd is stuck inside,in most cases You have to open the cd-player, in order to take the cd-out. I thnk that the cd has been "eaten" wrongly and now its stuck inside.

CD Stuck in cd player

There should be a reset button on either the face of the player or under the faceplate if its removable (tiny black button). Otherwise to remove the cd disconnect the unit and then plug it in or remove the memory fuse or battery lead for 5 seconds.

Figure out what fuse controls the CD player and pull the fuse out for a minute (or more), then replace it (theory being that the fuse acts as a reset button). If you cannot find the fuse, you can disconnect the negative battery cable, but you'll lose your radio and other settings. This trick seems to have the greatest chance of success overall.
Turn your ignition on to the accessory position. Hold the eject button down for 2 or 3 minutes. Depending on your make/model, the eject button may flash. When the button stops flashing (or when a few minutes has passed), release the button and immediately press it again (theory being that the two minutes of "work" followed by a quick break will fool the player into releasing the disc when you press the eject button again).
Try using some tweezers, needle nose pliers or hemostats (every tool kit needs a hemostat or two!) to pull the CD out while pressing the eject button with power going to the player (theory being that the disc is so slick the player can't eject it without help). Some people report success just by pulling the disc out with the tweezers without power to the player and without pressing the eject button.
If your player has a small hole in the front of it, like most personal computer CD players do, straighten a paperclip and push the clip straight into the hole to manually release the catch. Some players have a groove under the CD door instead of a hole. Look for a hole about the size of the paperclip and don't mistake an emergency release hole for an earphone jack.

Stuck cd

You can take two butter knives and slip them into the CD player and grab the CD. You should be able to see it in there. Just use the knives like a set of tongs. I did this before worked well, I actually used tweezers to do it as well. Each should work well
