Audiovox ACD-24 auto AM/FM CD player came with the car. Radio works fine. First time I put an audio cd in it played fine but would not eject the cd. Pressing the eject button caused the word "eject" to show on the screen for a few seconds then it commenced to play again. I tried the eject button maybe 50 times on two days to no avail. Then on the third day it worked. Visual inspection showed no obvious problems. Is there a mechanical ejection procedure using a paperclip?

Your CD reader must be damaged. You will have to manually take the CD player out of the cradle, and take it apart. This should be easy. Once you have the top off the CD player remove your CD and put it all back together again. You can by lens cleaning CD's from walmart, K-mart..any mart. Run that through and see if it helps. Once CD player is back in the car, hit eject to make sure the player knows it has no CD in it anymore.

Not nessecarly take it apart make sure power is on
on the front under the plate there is a little pin hole you push in with a straightened paper clip all cd players come equipt with this it pops the gears and pushes disk out you will have to use little pin and its usually positioned right side under cd slot
or you can disconnect the power and connect it again at battery this has helped some times
or take old aol cd push in gently on other cd this could release the cd

The CD is stuck inside my machine. How do I take it out?

Most CD players have a small hole where you can insert a straightened paper clip to release the lock.
When the lock is released, the tray will come open only slightly.
When it does, pull gently on the tray to get it open enough to remove the CD.
These instructions should also be in the manual.

you may have two cd`s inside take the radio out and take it apart. inside the radio there is a realese for the cd tray but you have to have power to the unit for it to work. eject the cd from the front then hit the release on the inside its a little tricky but you should be able to find it

How do I remove a stuck 6CD changer magazine?

Our Bose has a 5 CD player, So, I'm not sure if this is the same for your base unit, but here goes. You'll need: a bright light and a small screwdriver that reaches inside the chassis (or equivalent).

1. Disconnect the base unit from the system.
2. Turn the base unit upside down and find the access hole embossed with "Manual magazine release" on the CD player side.
3. Using a bright light, look inside the base unit at those access holes and find the fine spring and locate where it fastens to the sheet metal of the CD player.
4. When you find the spring you should see that it connects to the CD player chassis at the forward end and a piece of sheet metal that is on top (actually underneath when the base unit is right-wide up) of the CD player chassis at the rear end. This is the manual release mechanism.
5. Using the small screwdriver, push the release mechanism rearward to release the CD magazine from the player. The magazine should pop out.

If the magazine is not released, then the CD that is still in teh player has not been slid back fully into the magazine. In this case you'll need to plug the base unit back into power and hope that the CD is retracted, allowing you to push the release mechanism rearward. If not then you'll have to open the base unit to access the CD player.

I put a cd in the player and its stuck inside. how do i get it out without smashing the player?

Possible that there was a fault in the CD , maybe warped that has caused the CD to get struck inside. It can also be due to the failure off the loading mechanism of the player.
Hence you will require the hexahead tools to remove the mechanism so as to retieve the cd from the struck up mechanism.Remove the lid , then observe the mechanism , remove the mounts and release, thereafter check if the motor works , if not the loading motor drive IC , motor or the processor can be defective. ,
