Question about Panasonic DVD & Blu-Ray Players

1 Answer

I recently bought a Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-EZ27. And it does not read blank DVD's. I've tried different brands of DVD-R's, DVD R's, and DVD-RW's. However it will play and recognize pre-recorded DVD's. Each time I put in a blank DVD, the DVD player will try to read it and eventually say that the DVD player cannot read the disc. These discs are new so they cannot be dirty or scratched. I've tryed using a DVD lense cleaning disc, but still no results.

The problem still is;nt fixed. I bought the dvd recorder from a person that buys customer returns at an auction. I contacted him and he offered to give me a full refund or another recorder. He thought it might be a software problem. Thanks for getting back to us on this problem.

Universal Remote says ''RC2'' for DMR-EZ27

Question (s): The remote control for my DVD recorder has stopped working. Every time I press a button, the display says "CHK REMOTE 1", "RC1" or "SET1". What is wrong? Answer/Comments: Your DVD recorder remote control can be programmed (with different codes), so it can be used with multiple Panasonic DVD players. When you press a button and the display shows [CHK REMOTE #] or [RC#] or [SET#] it means that the DVD recorder and the remote control are not set to the same code.To set the remote control code to that of the DVD recorder, press and hold [ENTER] as well as the corresponding code number on the display (1, 2 or 3) at the same time for more than 2 seconds.

with these types of DVD RECORDER unit ,you have to purchase a specific DVD+RW brand so the system can accepted . I have this problem once , I ended returning the unit and getting a DVD RECORDER that will be compatible for all DVD players . Like the PANASONIC DMR-EZ27 ,hope this info helps you.

Panasonic dmr es10

Some DVD recorders don't like certain types of media. Does this happen with all blank dvd+rw disks or just with that specific brand? If it's that brand then you should just use a different one.

PANASONIC DVD RECORDER DMR EZ27

I had the same problem with my first unit, took it back they had to unscrew it all to get me back my DVD. They gave me a new machine. Checked it out seems it's a Auto Tuning problem, i went into the menu and restricted the auto tuning, problem is now, every time i switch it on it wants to update the tuning!! Pain in the ass. Contemplating taking it back again. Panasonic said it must be a one off, they hadn't had any other complaints!! Yeah right.

The Panasonics are very picky about the media ie brand and quality of the DVD blank. Try a different brand and see if that helps.
