if its a blinking red light that means it over heated let it sit for a few hours and it should be ok but if you get a green light to quick yellow to blinking red then you have the ylod so check it again and if its the ylod let me know so i can tell you how to fix it yourself without having to send it to sony
ok when you turn on your ps3 dont let go off the on/off button and wait till you hear a beep and then that should be it fixed if not reply back to this comment and i will tell you the other way to fix that
Hi, the problem you are having is all related to the dreaded rrod problem, now 3 red lights means hardware failure now this could mean the cpu or gpu chip has over heated and the solder holding it onto the circuit board has cracked and this is whats causing you the problem. now if you look on the date on the xbox it will tell you if you have any warranty left as this problem is covered by xbox warranty for 3 years so if you are within this time period you need to contact xbox and they will then collect and send you out another repaired xbox, but their is no guarantee on how long the other xbox will last and it will not be covered by any warranty.
Their isnt much you can do yourself to repair the problem your having, their are people out their like me who do the repairs on these and 9 out of 10 of the times they can be fixed but you do get some that are scrap when they have the 3 red lights.
its up to you you could either sell it and put the money towards a new one or pay to have it repaired, check your warranty first and let me know what you want to do as i may be able to assist you further ok.
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
yellow light indicates a system failure sorta like the xbox 360s red ring of death if your system is still under warrenty contact sony and tell them the problem they will probably ask you to send it in
by orange light do you mean 3 red flashing lights on the front? if so you have the red ring of death which is unfixable by someone with no experience, and they should replace that for free as it is a hardware crash which is there fault all the first xbox 360s got it at some stage
Yes they will still fix it for you as their is test points on the board where they can check each part for faults as you told them their was 3 flashing lights they will know whats wrong with it anyway as this is for the tech guys to diagnose what fault it is the lights flashing 3 times will tell them the problem so dont worry they will fix it for you and they should give you warranty anyway so you will be ok
http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/ring_of_light_x-clamp_fix.htm Unfortunately, a large number of folks know all to well from their own
experience. Fortunately for those who have not opened their console for
any reason Microsoft has extended the warranty of ANY console experiencing the 3
red lights failure for a full three years from the manufacture or purchase date.
