Question about Microwave Ovens
I HAVE TRIED WD 40 BUT IT STILL DID NOT WORK. I FINALLY GOT IT OPEN WITH A SHARP RAP WITH THE HANDLE OF A SCREW DRIVER, BUT THAT IS THE ONLY WAY. IT HAS WORKED FOR 10 YEARS. I ADDED MORE WD 4O DIRECTLY INTO THE DOOR HOLES. WHAT NEXT?
There may be a grease buildup on the sides of the door open button.
Or there may be enough wear on the prong ends of the back side of the door open button or the face of the door open lever so that it is not pushing the latches up high enough to open the door.
The outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this.
You can find an exploded view by entering your model number here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com
On the exploded views, the door open lever is reference # 2-6 and the door open button is reference # 3-5.
The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics at http://www.wehaveparts.com
