Finally it get t obe so often you cut it off for hours. We have repalced the tube twice so that is not the issue. We have it in a cabinet and we have aded a fan for circulation. We do not know what to do next. The TV repair perosn could not get it to tunr off in their shop. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

After reading sevral mixed reviews, I might have to say it's time for a new one. The reviews I read are either, they love it, no problems, or it's a pain, problems starting about a year after purchase. One thing you can try, if you're not ready to give up on it, is a professional calibration.

It sounds like an overheating problem.

Shut down with increased brightness: most likely cause is loose wire on pin # 2 on P406 (ABL) located at bottom left of power supply board. Press wire into plug portion for tighter connection.

your keeping a part that is warming up and shuts down your shutdown that protects the tv from burning up... cooler... to find this you might need a hair dryer or a can of freeze mist.
I believe the left side is your high-voltage section.
you can also let it warm-up without the fan .. let it shut down and feel parts with set unplugged to see what is running hot.

PROBLEM WITH SAMSUNG DLP TV

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

46 sam dlp problem

This is pure conjecture but I think the cooling fan has failed or is running slow.
Check to see if it can still be heard.

This system seems to be a bit weak on reliability.
