It is not necessary that every program running on Windows XP will also run on Windows 7. Then you need to run an application in Windows 7 compatibility mode, make older programs run in this version of Windows. If you still face the problem, then you can also visit: http://www.askpcexperts.com.

Not all programs that worked in Windows XP will run in Windows Vista or Windows 7.
I suggest you try compatibility mode to see if it helps.

If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

Use the following steps:

1) Right click on the Program

2) Click on Properties

3) Click on Compatibility tab

4) Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever operating system the program was running successfully.

Refer to the link here: Make older programs run in this version of Windows

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If the compatibility is not successful, then try and runthe Program Compatibility troubleshooter:

1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking theStart button.

Then click Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then clickTroubleshooting. Under Programs, clickRun programs made for previous versions of Windows.

2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

If you run Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and execute your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player (www.vmware.com) and install a separate copy of Windows XP (either Home Edition or Professional) for that purpose. You can find virtualization software free of charge that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.
Hope this helps.

Hi Alana,
There is in all liklihood nothing wrong with your digital voice recorder. It was never designed to work with Windows 7 (any version). Try loading the voice files onto a PC with any one of the following operating systems:
Windows VISTA; Windows XP (Professional or Home); Windows Me; Windows 2000 (Professional); Windows 98 (Second Edition). It should function quite normally and download, so that you re-use the memory on your recorder.

Will this version of Spiritual Expressions work with Windows 7 computer?

I have heard that it does work with windows 7 but there are some compatibility issues that could make it function poorly or crash unexpectedly. Unfortunately there isn't much more information about this product with Windows 7.

Can I install a kingston sdd and install windows 7 to it?How do I get to the Hdd?Also what is the advantage of having windows7?

The HDD can be accessed/removed from the underside of the laptop. If you look at the bottom of the laptop, there is a rectangular panel in the corner (farthest away from the battery). Remove the screws holding the panel in place and lift up the panel. Underneath is the HDD. If you remove the wrong panel (the large odd shaped one), you will be looking at the two RAM modules.

You can certainly replace the old HDD on the Toshiba with an SSD. Windows 7 works very well with SSD's as you won't have to worry about installing drivers or any special garbage collection software, as these essential SSD features are already present in Windows 7. The most essential feature Windows 7 will offer for your Kingston SSD will be the TRIM command, this runs in the background and greatly improves the lifespan of your SSD (read more detailed info about this here).

Other advantages of Windows 7 is the improved security over previous versions of windows, and more importantly, no performance issues that plagued Windows Vista. Not to mention the thousands of applications available for Windows. There are of course, many visual features that are fun to play around with in Windows 7, but that's about as far as I will go to summarize the functionality.

Good luck and have fun, I installed a very similar Kingston 64gb SSD on my own laptop and I have yet to regret it (they are fast).

I wan't to change my os from xp 2 to win 7.is there any need of driver for such os for my compaq presario c783 tu.help me

Yes when you get a new Operating System you need new drivers for that operating system. Your Windows XP 2 drivers will no longer be valid once you switch to Windows 7 for your Compaq Presario c783tu. Most of the drivers will be automatically installed by Windows 7. You may have little problem with searching for some drivers for Windows 7 which Windows 7 does not contain. In this case you may try to install and experiment with Windows Vista drivers.

Warning: You can severely disable the functionality of your PC if you install the wrong driver. In this case you may need expert help and advice to remove those drivers from your PC and restore the normal functionality.

Is it compatibløe with Windows 7?

Hi,
It does not have any Windows 7 drivers on the HP page so some parts may not function. Windows 7 usually discovers and installs most of the drivers automatically however you cannot be quaranteed that everything will run smoothly.
You can check your system with the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
Download it from here:

I installed windows 7 and now my function keys don't work

You need to install the drivers, windows does not recognize these additional buttons until the proper drivers are loaded. Depending on manufacturer windows 7 drivers may or may not be available. Microsoft did something smart with windows 7 by allowing you to use windows vista drivers in windows 7. So if there are no win 7 drivers just download and install the vista drivers. Good luck!
