My TomTom GO 700 turns on and goes to the "Legal Notice" screen and will not proceed to boot up past this screen. Tapping the "I agree" spot will not allow it to boot up. Help! Thanks in advance.

Re: TomTom Boot up problem
Have you tryed pressing the reset button in the bottom of the deivce.
How can I reset TomTom GO? (GO users only) You should never have to reset TomTom GO under normal circumstances. However, in the event of a problem you can reset the unit by removing it from the cradle and using a straightened paper clip in the reset hole on the unit's bottom (just behind the release button).

Try to do a "Boot"
.... by pressing and holding down the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds (or a
lot more) until the device powers on again. Yes, at times, it may take a
minute or more ! of holding that button down.
You may want to try operating your TomTom from TomTom Home. This has seemed to work for a lot of people who do not have backups, as you are connected to their site. Apparently, a file or two are updated, and you are back in business. Here's an example:
"Though not using a 720 my 500 wouldn't startup after upgrade to 7.16. Always stuck on the first splash screen.
After conncting to Home I chose Operate my Go and another file was downloaded. After this the device would boot up norammly when not connected to my PC.
Hook the Tomtom using the USB cable to your computer. You should see the Tomtom drive under My Computer as a drive letter.
Backup all data from the Tomtom to a folder on your computer. Now select the Tomtom drive and right click, select properties, select tools, and then Check now. Allow the computer to fix any problems with the Tomtom drive. Once this is completed. Remove the USB cable and do a reset. Now turn on your Tomtom and it should work.
