I have my PS3 connected via HDMI to my LCD Samsung TV. Every now and again my sound shuts off and for me to get it back I have to unplug the HDMI cord from the back of the PS3 and plug it back in and its back on again. Anyone know what's up with that?
Is the HDMI lead just just coming slightly loose? Otherwise I can't think of anything else - it's definately the lead. If it isn't because it's coming loose, I'd recommend getting a new lead.

It should ask you to connect your
controller via usb and press the PS button in
the middle of your controller. There
will be a menu with 6 options. Try 1-4.
Keep in mind that certain options will erase precious data from your hard drive. Be sure to back up your data first.

Mine also goes out and comes back during game play! You can hear people chatting but not the sounds from the game. It goes out from anywhere to 30 secs to a couple mins. Really annoying. I have bought a new HDMI cable and that hasn't fixed it either. Only other thing I can figure is it might be the HDMI port in back of the PS3. Only way to find out, I suppose, would be playing with out the HDMI cord to see if sound goes out.. If not.. I guess it's my HDMI port?
