Question about PC Laptops
I have a Linksys wireless router and I am not able to connect to the internet using my Gateway Laptop. I spoke with Gateway tech support and they told me to contact BestBuy since that is where I purchased my computer. I also have an extended warranty plan. I have been able to connect with no problems since we have had DSL service and then a couple of days ago I couldn't connect to the internet using any of my computers....I called our internet service provider, Windstream, they told me to call Linksys...I did that....It worked fine until yesterday....I have an HP Pavilion Desktop and an HP Pavilion Laptop that I purchased at Bestbuy and I can connect to the internet on both of them....When I talked with Linksys they said I probably needed to download something from Gateway ... an adapter or something...I'm not sure...but I really could use a smart little technician right about now....Please help me if you can... I would greatly appreciate it....Thank you, Chelisa
If you are using windows xp then you need to go to control panel and click on the network and internet connection icon and run the setup wizard. Choose the "other" box when asked and then choose the "I already have a network but no internet connection" box and click next. And last just choose the last box on the bottom of the menu which says just finish the setup. Don't pick the ones that say make a floppy disk or whatever.
