Question about Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Digital Speaker System Computer Speakers

Operating with/without the control panel

Hi, I am working cleaning up dorms at my college, and you're allowed to loot whatever people leave behind.  I found a Logitech Z-5500 Digital set and I got to keep it.  The only problem is, the control panel wasn't with it.  Is there any way to make connections to a computer or an iPod without the control panel?  Could I buy a certain connector?  Can I buy the control panel separately?  The set came with 7 logitech speakers, red and black wires for each speaker, 3-cable connectors that are green, orange, and black.  What should I do?

You could try hooking them up to another speaker that has the input connections. I have done this before with several different speakers and daisy chained the connections with several speaker connections and they worked great. I had surround sound all over the room. You might run into a problem with the main speaker that you plug into not being able to push all of the speakers that you have but you might get lucky. Those speakers say that that carry 550 watts.
I recently bought a set of speakers that stated that they push 100 watts. The sub was putting out 50 watts and the others were only putting out 25 each. I hooked up a 100 watt speaker to it and it worked. You might be able to contact logitech to get the other speaker that you need. That set of speakers looks awesome on the site. This is the specs for the other speakers

I think that this is what you wanted to know. If it was not your solution, let me know. I will help you more. I might not be understanding your question correct. I have referred your question to someone on the site that works with logitech.

The logitech person told me that you can not buy just one speaker from them. He suggested looking on Ebay.
He also suggested the same thing that I told you to try.

Are you still having this problem? Did my answer solve your problem?

As a college sophomore, will people look down on you if you choose to live your second year in the dorm?

It's strictly how you perceive it. Don't worry about what others think. It's your life and if they don't like it, then they can pay for your apartment

I have been getting these refrigerators steady for the past two weeks with the same symptoms. Problem involves removal of food from the fresh food compartment for twelve hours and leave the doors open with the fridge unplugged as to defrost the ice behind the back center panel so you will be able to remove that panel that has Styrofoam behind it without breaking the panel or the foam. There is a drain behind that panel that needs to be cleaned so water will flow freely to a pan below the refrigerator during defrost. I'm here if you have questions, John T

Password problems

operating systems have passwords I don't know of a built in password for the internet. So the only option would be a third party software that adds internet protection like a firewall maybe. Look for programs like zone alarm, Norton, or Mcafee because they may include internet security it may even be like a net nanny. If you find something disable or uninstall it to see it thats the one creating the problem. Hope this helps.
