Looking for the wiring diagram of the din plug on Clarion XM665 6 disk changer.

http://www.kolumbus.fi/richard.bevan/saab/saab93/saab_images/head_unit_pin_out.gif fo C-Bus changers. I'm not sure if the one you mention is a C-bus or Ce-Net. But that info above is from a Saab website and all the Saabs in that generation used Clarion changers.

Want to know if I can use the line-level inputs from the CD Chgr

Your alpine unit is the old "M-BUS" the other adapter you are talking about is an "AI-BUS" adapter. (Hence the model numbers beginning with CD"M" or CD"A" ...)

Look for an Alpine M-Bus to RCA Input adapter.

heres one on eay for less than 10.00 including shipping.

I should be a scsi 2 cable -- 50-pin mini-din male/male...

Double check the scanner and the card, if you don't know the difference between mini-din and regular, let me know and I'll try to find images to show you.

Stays on even if HU (CDA-9833) is off

It is possible that the SIR unit stays powered as long as the red wire is powered, since it is normally connected to a switched source. To test this, disconnect the red wire or move it to a switched source (you could even add a switch on the wire and flip it manually). If the battery stays healthy after that, then the red wire being constantly powered is the problem. Otherwise, it is possible there is a problem with the Ai-NET cable connected to the SIR unit.
