  1. Controller is confused A power surge or random non-reproducible action of the universe may have resulted in the controller's program ending up in an infinite loop. Pull the plug for a minute or two to reset it.
  2. Defective Interlock switches This can result in the controller thinking the door is open and ignoring you.
  3. Cleaning Cleaning solutions (spray cleaner) may have gotten inside and shorted out the touchpad or controller. If this happens remove the touchpad, let it air dry for a few days, and then attach it back on the microwave.
  4. main control board to ensure that a shortage has not occurred. If the part is defective then it will need to be replaced to prevent continual shut offs. If this is not the issue, the next step would be to check for a faulty touchpad.
  5. Touchpad/Control panelIf the control board is not the issue and your microwave continues to shut off after running for only a few seconds, the next thing to check is your touchpad, which is also known as a control panel. Although uncommon for this issue, symptoms are usually that the display and some buttons are working properly; however, when selected some buttons are not functioning. If this is the case the touchpad will need to be replaced.

Tripping GFI

proceed using the common sense. You must open the microwaves for to see what happen, the coffee produce bad contacts, and reaction from component like short, etc. However the following. God bless you
Door Switch If the microwave runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, a door switch might have failed intermittently. Check each of the door switches for any signs of overheating, arcing, or burning. Also check each of them for continuity. Replace any of the switches that is visibly damaged or that only has continuity intermittently.

Main Control Board If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops there may be a short circuit in the main control board. Check other components first, these boards are often misdiagnosed.
Touchpad and Control Panel If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad and control panel might be defective. There are several other components that can cause this problem, be sure to check any other components before replacing this board.

Touchpad If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad might be at fault. This is not common. Generally speaking, if the dishwasher display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.

High Voltage Transformer If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the high voltage transformer might have an intermittent short. This is not common. Check other components related to the microwave symptom first.

Thermoprotector If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the thermoprotector may have tripped. This is a safety device to prevent the microwave from overheating. It can be tested for continuity to see if it's blown.

Thermostat If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the thermostat might be defective. Watch our video on testing thermostats.

I pluged the microwave in it was working and when I pushed it back and when I looked at it it waqs not working any moren mdl # is 87449 kenmore counter top microwave

Check the outlet it is plugged into. Remove the microwave plug. If you don't have a voltage meter handly to test the voltage at the outlet or the continuity of the microwave plug, I would suggest you plug in a lamp from your living room into the outlet. If it doesn't work, either the outlet is a tripped (GFIC) Ground Fault Interuption Circuit outlet or the circuit breaker tripped in your electrical panel box or the microwave cord is damaged and caused a short and blew the fuse. To check these I would try plugging the light in and press the red reset button located on the wall outlet or flip tripped circuit breaker in panel. If it's a damaged cord or fuse, you can visit this web site for Sears parts www.searspartsdirect.com If you found any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solutions. Thanks D. Lange

Turntable doesn't turn

If you just purchased and Installed the microwave, I would call Sears and tell them what is happening, generally, it would still be under warranty if less than a year old. If its a countertop model, you may have to take it in, otherwise they should come to the home for the repair. I would also NOT indicate that you have looked at it as that would void your warranty.
Otherwise, it seems like the problem could be, a) touchpad , b) a relay or c) the main control board
