Checking voice mail remotely

We have a Uniden DCT648 and are away from home--what is the procedure for checking my voice Mail? I thought it should be 1. call the phone 2. press * 3. enter PIN But that is not working. I am away from home and I have an old Southwestern Bell phone. I don't have a style or model number with me, but it has a large screen , approx. 12 options shown for speed dial, a directory, etc. I've had it approx. 10 to 12 years. How can I check my messages! I'm desperate!

For this model of phone, you perform the following:
1- Call the phone, wait for the machine to answer
----if the machine is on, it should answer within about 4 rings and begin playing your answering machine message
----if the machine is off, it will still answer after about 10 rings with a series of beeps
2- During the message (or beeps if it is off) press 0 and then enter your 2 digit PIN code. This should get you remote access to the phone. from there you can follow the menu structure that the phone tells you. If you never entered a PIN code, that's not a problem. the default code for this model of phone is 80.

you have about 15 seconds to enter a command, all commnds are two digit (01 through 10) and the digits must be entered within 2 seconds of eachother for the command to hold.

follow those directions and you'll be checking your messages in no time flat.

I have forgotten my password. Facebook IS NOT sending me a new one to my E-Mail address

It's possible someone took over your account and changed the email address for recovery, or you used a different email address.

Only helpful info I have for you is to check your junk/spam box incase it got stuck in there.

My email is corrupted and sending out emails to everyone on contact list. Besides changing password is there anything else I should do?

If its a mail server, call your network admin. If its Outlook, Thunderbird or something PC based, I'd scan for the malware with Superantispyware and/or Malwarebytes. Further, I'd check your account settings and yes, change your password on a regular basis.

WHY CAN'T I GET EMAILS TO GO OUT, NOR RECEIVE ANY EMAILS LIKE I DID WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT A COMPUTER!!!!

Check that your e-mail client's SMTP, POP3, and IMAP settings are what they should be according to your e-mail provider. Double-check the username and password match as well. Be sure that the problem is not malware by running some free tools like superantispyware and malwarebytes.

At the time, when you have created an email account there were two question used for security purpose so that no other can hack or misuse your ID. So try to remember that which answer you have given by that time of making ID.

Got wireless G router.avantage in N version?

The biggest advantage is that N is faster than G, with a higher data rate. Whether this would make any noticeable difference to you depends on what you're doing with the computer. For normal use, just Web surfing, checking e-mail and the like, there's almost no difference between G and N. If you're into online gaming over your wireless connection or watch lots of streaming video, though, the higher speed might benefit you.

Keep in mind that any wireless link slows down because of signal strength and interference, so you'll never get the full speed under real-world conditions. If you're in an area with many other networks or your router is several rooms away, your N speed may be little different from G anyway. And switching to N won't change your line speed; depending on your ISP and connection method, N may not give any improvement over G.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

Apple I phone

First thanks for choosing fixya.com

Try holding the power button until the unit shuts off. While it is off you may want to charge it for a few hours to make sure the battery is not dying. Then turn the unit back on and see if it works properly.

If the problem continues you may want to check if any new apps or modifications have been added to the phone.

If you purchased the phone recently the warranty/insurance should still be good and your local provider may be able to fix the phone for free.

Feel free to ask further if this does not help.

Jei.
