Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Philips 60PP9202/17F Projection Television

Need ideas on how to troubleshoot low voltage in a circuit. Have service manual. Low voltage is on yoke coil. Reads 130V,manual says is supposed to be 148V. This is causing a green bleed to the right of highlighted areas on images. Ive read articles stating a cause is low volt on yoke. Can I email you schematic for advice? Thanks

Do you have an address for me to send the schematic? Its pdf format. Maybe you could shed some light, all three yokes are having low voltage. This tv is a 2004 model.

How old is this tv?

Projection tvs are all basically the same. Most likely it is the coil unless you can find a short somewhere else in the power supply. The coils tend to go after so much use. If you still want to email the schematic, let me know but I think you are right with thinking that it is the coil and it will need to be replaced.

Let me know if you have any further questions as I would be more than happy to answer them for you

There are a few low value 1-watt flameproof resistors in the convergence yoke circuits. They typically range from 1 to 3 ohms. An open resistor will cause the respective color to be non-responsive. Also chack that you have the convergence yokes re-connected to the correct connectors on the board.

This means you do have some bad resistors low ohms 2.7 most of the time its only 2 of them depends on how long you played set before replacing STKs .

Have you tried unplugging the convergence yokes and then try powering up the set? Its not uncommon for that chassis to shut the set down when the ICs are bad.

usually the low voltages are attributed to a capacitor that is not performing right under load. however the only way to diagnose the capacitors is in circuit with an ESR meter, those are very exspensive unless you purchase a kit and put it together yourself. I know the following link has the ESR meter kit that needs to be assembled for a reasonable price. You may want to consider getting one, the other alternative is buying a capacitance meter and removing each capacitor from circuit and checking them. here is the link that may be your best bet they do offer free tech support as well.

Toshiba projection television

If setting the convergence in the menu doesn't help it's most likely the convergence amps. Your set takes two STK394-250A Sanyo built amps at Q751 & Q752 Toshiba p/n# 23135048. Also check, or have checked, the low ohm resistors in that circuit referred to as the yoke return resistors.
