CALL BUTTON Comment by SSPD12, posted on Jun 07, 2008 Thank you but it is the actual 'Call' on my MT800 that I wish to turn off so that the other person does not make my handset alert the birds/animals. Can it be done? Thank you for your time.

Hi SSPD12,

Another potential "fix" for the problem that occurs to me is this: if you are not able to turn off the "call" tone you are referring to, you might be to solve the issue by purchasing a headset or earphone for the radio and using that when you are in the field. This would solve the problem because only you would hear the tone while you are wearing the headset.

Just another option for you to consider..

Best regards
Ken

I have a unit that does not have power, changed batteries, but no power to reader, what do I check next.

I am not familiar with this device, but this comment should help with any battery operated device that uses AAA, AA, C, D and N batteries, and possibly others.

First, make sure that the BUTTON goes to the + terminal, and not the one with the spring.

Make sure that the contacts are clean, on both the device ance the battery.

Check that the BUTTON actually makes a good contact with the devices positive terminal. Not all batteries conform to the standard dimensions and I have found that quite often the BUTTON contact isn't quite long enough to hit the devices connection. I have seen this on inexpensive and expensive batteries!

I hope this helps.

Where do the two leads of the suppressor go for the best results?

Hi Lex,

You haven't given the Make/Model of the radios, which is required for us to assist.

As you wish to install these in your vehicle, I suggest you post on Cars & Trucks forum with all the details of your radios, the team there are great on this sort of expertise, not here on the two way radio forum.

Cheers,
Peter

I have a Raymarine VHF marine radio but cannot get channel 37 - why not?

Hi,

To my knowledge, Ch 37 (M1) is used by the UK Marinas and Yacht Clubs, however, the Raymarine Ray45VHF uses the US VHF Marine Radio Channels allocations/standard where there is no Ch 37 (actually no Chs 29-59).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Looking for tips /advise on installing a FL-100 filter in a IC-706MKII

Hi,

To my understanding, most optional/add-on IF filters are plug-in. For the Icom IC706MkII, it would have to be on the top circuit board. Top cover is held by 3 screws on top and 1 at each sides. After you have physical connected the filter, you need to inform the system the specific filter connected on powerup. This could be done in the "Initial Set-up Mode".

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Transmit buton

Hi,

Yes as long as the features and pin configuration of the connectors are the same. In its simplest form, the microphone/cable would only be carrying 3 wires; transmit audio, PTT to TX and ground. Of course others would have for the different switches, keys and other features (if present in your model).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

3. Choose one of the following:
