Question about RCA 27V530T 27" TV

1 Answer

Gone haywire My set is about 3 yrs old. Everything has quit working on it. I turned it on and there is a picture, but the channel won't change. I tried to use the menu, it will come up on screen, but it doesn't work, the highlighter keeps running up and down the page, it won't stop on anything. The sound is doing the same thing. I finally got it to adjust, and then the bars came on screen and the sound started going down on it's own and then no sound, and I couldn't adjust it at all. I tried to turn off the set, but I had to unplug it to get it to go off. The controls on front of the set will not work at all. I was not having any problems at all until this. What could be causing this? About what would be the approx cost to repair it, and would it be worth it. Thanks, Cindy

Your circuit board has definately overheated. You have to send it into the manufactorer for a replace.

My tv was working fine and then it has gone black but still has sound and could change channels also connected to dvr and its a Sony tube tv ...yes its old but it was working perfect until this

The first thing to do is with back off turn set on and look carefully in the neck of the picture tube---you should see a filament (not unlike a light bulb but round and small (there are 3 filaments)

They are only 6.3 volts so will not be real bright but if none that is the problem.

Let me know if they are not lit and I will tell you what to look for.

Picture on tv set rolls

Hi I am Vortash the set vertical sync circuit has a fault on it possibly the frame transistor has gone low or a feed resistor or capacitor has changed value .. if it is the old style Cathode tube set then it is probably the frame capacitors there are two they go leaky and cause this problem .. you did not say a set model so this is about all I can advise yo ,, but sooner or later frame collapse is imminent and you will be left with just a white line across the middle .. the set needs a service engineer to sort this out soon ... Regards Vortash

Had Pwr Outage. Need info on how to reprogram Channels

Thank you for your quick response. The problem was that the ant selection switch was not set correctly. One of the grandkids must have bumped it. So I was using for the moment a VCR tuner for my TV tuner. The set is 25 yrs old and still is wonderful. I know I can add channels to the set, but I have forgotten how. The manual is long gone. Not a big deal I have 65 channels, that is plenty.

Thanks again,
Sonny

Can't get TV onto the AUX channel

You can purchase an RCA universal remote that will let you access the A-V inputs. These only cost about $10.00 or so. Stargazer

Cannot get DVD to Play on TV

Try the old RCA/GE channels of 90/91 or 92 to get to the inputs. Or try entering channel 00. Let me know if that works.

Won't tune in all channels

Do you mean the channels from the internal tuner which would be channels 22 to 68, or do you mean satelite channels, as I do not know whether this set has a built in satelite receiver? Satelite broadcasters are often changing frequencies or satelites.- Programs come and go!
