Is there a trick to tightening the Bosch Dishwasher door handle? I would hate to create a bigger problem.
Thank you

-   Same problem....orangeferry, your solution was spot on! thx!! I found the best thing was to open the door to horizontal, prop it off the floor with anything avail underneath before removing the screws, remove the screws and carefully close the inner door. Then the handle was easy to tighten after which I re-opened the inner door to lie flat on the outer door and screwed them back together. The door screws will strip, so be careful with not over-tightening them. (I found out with one the hard way)-   SFJeff

-   I have the same problem. The handle is very loose and I can't figure out a way to get in there to tighten. Really don't want to call a repairman. What's the secret?-   robbarf

I have the problem, and unfortunately even if you fix it, it comes back.

Here's how to tighten:

With the door to the dishwasher open, unscrew (using apropriate sized allen wrench) the screws surrounding the outer perimeter of the door. As you do, be careful, as the outer shell of the door will begin to fall. Once you take off this outer shell, you can easily tighten the handle, then screw the shell back into place.

Very annoying design flaw.

I just tightened the handle on my Bosch SHV6803 dishwasher. It turned out to be even easier than explained here. The two screws on the upper, inside corners of the door are much longer than all the others. If you remove those two screws, the outer shell of the door pivots away from the inside (it drops down if the door is lying horizontally) and the handle screws are exposed and easily tightened.

I had the same problem with my Bosch dishwasher.I came to this web site to find out how to get the door off.I took the experts advice, placed 4 pillows on the floor in fromt, opened the door, took out the screws and the front panel dropped down.It was so easy, the plastic spacers stayed in place.I put a little J B weld on the handle screws and tighted the handle and put everything back together,12 minutes tops. Thanks for the help, thankful in Georgia
