Sorry, the above post should of been a solution!!
This basically means that the firmware (the PS3's set of instructions for how to work) has become corrupt. I will give you something to try but if it does not work I am afraid you will have to try and contact Sony. Try these steps first but be warned, make a backup first of all your data!!
Step 1. Turn your PS3 off into standby (red light on)
Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it, then beep 5 seconds later then beep once more and turn off. Release the power button.
Step 3. Press and hold the power button again. It will beep when you first press it, beep again 5 seconds later then there will be 2 quick beeps together. As soon as you hear these 2 beeps let go of the power button.
Step 4. The PS3 will start up and ask you to connect a controller via USB and press the PS button. Do this and then move onto the next step.
Step 5. The PS3 will display a menu, 1-6. Choose option 3. Restore File system. This will check for missing/corrupt files. It may possibly report that the hard disk is corrupt and needs to be formatted. I must warn you that you may lose some data at this step, namely save games.
Step 6. Wait for the PS3 to restart and try playing a game again.
Hopefully this will cure the error but unfortunately it is such a rare one most people who do get it never manage to fix it 100%. For some reason the error just keeps coming back. If the error does not go away then I am afraid you will have to give Sony a call and see what they say. I hope this helps.
It is a general error
telling you the data you want cannot be accessed for
some reason. Usually you'll get a moderately helpful
explanation along with the 80004005 notification. In
most cases, it comes down to lack of permission or DSN
In english...MS is moving your data to another server and it can take 3 to 5 days for everything to update.
This is the error code for disk errors: "An error occurred during the start operation. (8001002B)". If the disc is clean, maybe the laser is dirty. Use a lens cleaning CD to give the laser a clean (cheap to buy). You can also try deleting the temporary game data (using Game Data Utility) and reinstall the game.
okay if the problem persists every time you turn your system on, try holding the on button on the front of the console down until you hear a second beep. that will reset the system. if the system turns on without the screen, back up your data onto an external hard drive, and reinstall the ps3 through the settings menu. the reason that you are getting this error is either because of faulty hardware or software. so we are going to try the software approach first, if this doesn't work, please message me back saying if it did or not.
