Make sure that all background programs are not running on your computer. This includes, IMs, Anti virus, email programs. Defrag your hard as well. Your captured material may not be on contiuous file on the hard drive but fragmented into pieces.

What type of processor do you have in your computer and how much memory does it have?

Make sure that you run the PCI performance wizzard as wall as all calibration programs within Studio 9. Make sure that your DVD has recording enabled. This can be done by pressing my computer, pressing the right mouse button on the drive, select properties, select the recording tab, check enable CD recording on this drive. You may have to adjust the recording speed as well if the DVD player has trouble reading it.

Pinnacle also recommends that captured video is stored onto a secondary hard drive. That is the best way to get rid of the problem. This way the C drive can work with the temporary files needed while processing the video that resides on the other hard drive.

I have used Pinnacle now for 5 years and produced hundreds of videos on it. Everytime this has happened putting the captured video onto another drive and removal of all background programs does the trick.

I have the Moviebox USB (the Porche design) I'm running Studio 14 on windows 7, but it wont detect my moviebox? The pc tels me it works fine, but the Studio wont detect it. I have tryed the hardwaredrivers...

I have the same problem. If you have an earlier version of Studio (i.e.; Studio 12) with which Moviebox USB works, then retain that version for capture. For all else, use Studio 14 by retrieving your captured footage from your hard drive.

Capture working from camera but not from movie box VCR analoge input

Check the Image source if well shielded. Weak or broken shield in cable will affect the video-sound quality. Try different cable and analog video source. Once you ensure that nothing is wrong at input side. Uninstall-Reinstall the driver and the accompanied software also update driver and the software from Pinnacles support website.

Where are the captured videos kept, I am running out of space on my HD. I have edited and saved movies I want off to another disk, but the originals are still on my C drive somewhere

Search your computer for all files with an extension that you use for your video files, whether it be mpg, mov, avi, etc. When you installed Pinnacle studio, you determined where the files would be stored or let it go to pinnacles default setting. Go to my computer right click and do a search for files >25Mb and that should bring up at least some of your files. Then look at the location (folder) where they are stored and you will find all of the others in there as well. Burn, transfer and/or delete what you don't want any longer. You might also try to open pinnacle studios, start a new project and save it, to see where pinnacle stores it. The rest should be there. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Can't capture just audio with no video

Capture it as a standard video clip (with audio), then export the audio track out of Final Cut. If you export as 48 KHz, 16-bit stereo, then there should be no loss in quality as the output is the same as the captured input.
