Monitor problem (by 2 users)

We bought ours from Best Buy in 2006. Now we can only turn it on and off by the plug. When we plug it in the blue on button flashes and the Gateway symbol flashes on the screen. Very fustrating, any thoughts?

I have tried the monitor on my Dell computer. I have pluged it into the manufacture port and the ATI Radeon video port on my Gateway. I have taken it to a local PC shop and they hooked it up, it did the same thing.
