Memory Card locked

A friend took out the memory card and put it in her computer to get the photos, when I put it back in the camera, the card says it is locked now. She did not do anything except copy and paste the photos onto her desktop. How do I unlock the card?

I can't format the card as it is locked and will not let me do anything to it. I copied the photos off, but I need the camera for work and it wont let me delete off the card or take new photos with it. I took the card out so I can take up to 80 photos on my camera memory. My computer does not read the memory card when I put it in the computer so I can't do anything with that.

Thanks. She moved the switch to lock it.

Hi-
There is a difference between delete and format.
Use the camera controls/menu options to FORMAT the card.
The only thing that would interfere with this is if you accidentally moved the switch position on the card to locked position. Check that to make sure that did not happen by mistake.

Locked should not keep you from getting the data of of it, so one option is to transfer the pictures from it to your own computer then reformat the card (use the camera menu to do this, not your PC).
Another is to mount the volume on your PC and change the permissions on that device, including all sub-folders, so that it is no longer protected/locked.
Good luck.

How to get photos off a nikon coolpix internal memory

Two alternatives: Remove the memory card before connecting the camera to your computer, or use the Copy command to copy the pictures from the internal memory to the memory card and then download from the memory card.

I can see all my pictures that I took on my camera but when I put my memory stick in the computer and at Walmart photo lab they are on my memory stick..why?

Trying taking the memory card to a computer and looking through it for the photos. Take them off and put on pc. Then format memory card. Place memory card back in camera and take a picture. Then put memory card back in pc and take original photos and drop into folder that has new picture you took. It should work by noe if not then get a new memory card. Then try again.

You can recover all your pictures from memory card with third party data recovery software.I have succeed to recover pictures from SD card with Tenorshare data recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your memory card to look for lost data. By the way,you can download it and scan your memory card for free to preview whether your lost pictures can be recovered. http://www.any-data-recovery.com

Memory card filled and I took more pictures. Seemed to put those on the internal memory. What happened too or how can I recover the memory card pictures?

Probably one of two solutions.
First, the memory card should have all the pictures intact. If you are using the camera to review, you may need to just keep going back until the memory card photos show.
Another possibility is that the internal memory supersedes viewing the card memories. You may have to run a USB cable to your computer, download the internal memory photos, and then you can possibly see (on the camera) the memory card photos. It might be a good idea to download those photos to your computer too, if the computer has a memory card slot. Otherwise you will have to go through them and download via the USB again. Once you know the photos are saved, you can either change cards with a new one , or clear the old card and start again.
Good Luck

Can't help with the camera- sounds like it has a fault.

The photos, however, should be recoverable by putting the memory card into a card reader on a computer.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 cant upload photos!!

Did your friend use the "safely remove hardware" function when removing your card from her computer? That could corrupt your card if she didn't. Try this...take your card to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture kiosk. They can usually read everything on a card. There, you can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Afterwards, format your card in your camera.

Can't access photos on 2 GB SD camera card.

You may try some photo recovery software to rescue the files on your digital camera sd card, here are some for your options.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Recovery for Mac

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

How do U upload photosfrom my computer to my sony cyber shot DSC-S500

I'm not sure that you can upload photos from the computer to the camera. i have never seen a camera you could do that with. The only way you might be able to do it is if you are using a sony memory card in your camera and you took the memory card out of the camera and put it in a memory card reader connected to your computer. Put the photos from your computer on to your memory card and then put the memory card back in the camera.
