Question about Samsung HCN4226W 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Pink vertical line in middle of screen.

I have a reddish pink line that runs vertically on my screen. It is present on every channel and when the cable is not plugged in. Can anyone help me figure out what is going on? I just replaced the convergence board (picture is great) so I know this is not the problem.

Me too! I just put in new IC chips in the board. My color is good now but I have this pink line running down the center of the screen.

We recommend that you test other inputs and devices on the TV to see if the lines appear only on 1 device or type of cable connection.

The picture keeps turning pink off and on lately...is it the bulb and can we replace it?

I have a suggestion: when it goes pink go to a black and white channel and examine the screen: if reddish you may be able to adjust the red screen control to correct this.

I can tell you how to do that and please let me know what you find before you rate this information.

Picture shows only about a 2-3" blue, green,or red vertical line down the middle

If your seeing vertical line across the screen you need to check the components in the vertical stage as well as the vertical IC could be bad, or the yoke could open.
Also check if any voltage reaching the vertical stage.

Good luck.
