As usb is devices is ready detected by vista and its confirm the registry for the device and its not detected while loading driver
suggested to remove the usb cable and remove the previous driver information reinstall the driver without connecting the printer and power on the printer aftre driver is loaded and it will be detected by system
can also check the same procedure with different computer for testing , as the port is working ok at printer end
