Hi,

Click on start>control panel>network and internet connections>network connections, now right click on the wireless adapter and select "Enable" at the top.

The button on the front will not work correctly if this is not enabled, if your problem persists after this then follow this.....go to start>control panel>performance and maintenance>system>hardware tab>device manager, now look down the list of devices and click on the +/expand option next to "Network Adapters", now right click on the wireless network adapter and uninstall it, now reboot the laptop - When you boot to windows it will automatically pick up the wireless adapter back up and install the drivers for it.

You may need to put in you wep

How can I connect my notebook to another pc without installing LAN??

A Local Area Connection, or LAN, is generally a small home or office network used to link all the devices in the area. With the advent of wireless technologies, LAN networks are no longer limited to the amount of cords you own. Laptops can connect to wireless LAN easily with their built in wireless adapters. Connecting two laptops together over wireless LAN is also easy, but requires a few special steps to give the laptops access to each other.

1Connect both laptops to the wireless network you wish to use. Once connected, click the "Start" button and navigate to the "Network" menu.

2.Click the "Network and Sharing Center" link. Press the "View Computers and Devices" button. A list of devices currently on the network is displayed.

3.Check the list for the names of both laptops. If both laptops are displayed in the list of devices connected to the network, the devices are connected wirelessly to a LAN network.

Cant connect to wireless away from home

You have to manually connect to your University's wireless connection. Double 9maybe single) click the wireless icon bottom right screen and then untick the box for connect automatically under your home connection. Then double click on the wireless connection that you would like to connect to from the list of available wireless networks.

My wireless button doesn't work right for wireless. It wants to stay in wire hookup mode?

What is it you are trying to do?
Just pushing a button does not connect you to a wireless network--it simply turns on the wireless capability (enables your wireless network connector). You then have to actually connect to the wireless network of your choice by entering your username and password. How you connect depends on your computer. If you are using Windows to manage the connection, you simply click on the little icon in the system tray and tell it to show the available networks and choose which one you want. If you are using a utility provided by the computer or network card manufacturer, you must use that to connect.
Oh, and you need to disconnect the wired connection. You may benefit from restarting your computer to allow the network to re-establish a connection.

Got home a brand new Fujitsu M2010 notebook. Cannot find the wireless network button, so cannot detect my home wireless internet connection

Right Click your network icon on the bottom right side of your screen and click on "open network connections" and it will show what you have available. You may just have to enable your wireless by right clicking an icon

Asus eee pc 900a wireless connection not working

I've experienced the same problem with my ASUS netbook. Uninstall the wireless hard - remove hardware in control panel, reboot the machine and allow it to auto find the adapter again. This should correct it. If there are still problems verify that you have the most current driver for the wireless adapter, either from Asus, or the wireless adapter chipset manufacturer (i.e. Intel, broadcomm, etc.)

Problem on startup with laptop combining internal ethernet and WLAN as if there is only one network connection I am trying to fix my mother's Acer Aspire 3680. It has 1GB of RAM, running XP Home SP3. It...

Sounds like the problem may be related to the power management of the internal ethernet card.

You need to check these settings in the Acer ePower Management software (usually installed with the laptop).
E.g. If you the laptop is not charging then you will not be able to see or change any settings on the internal ethernet card.

If you do not have the Acer ePower Manager installed then you can download it here;

Lost on screen wireless icon

You can do this the long way to connect to a network and get your icon back hopefully.

Go into my computer, click control panel (switch to classic view), then go to network connections, from there Right click on your wireless connection, and select properties. Once in there, unclick and reclick (or just click) both the tick boxes for displaying wireless info. Then press ok and cross your fingers :P (it might need to be rebooted)

If you can't connect still or see the icon, the workaround is going back into that network connections, and just selecting (or single clicking) the wireless connection. There should be a menu on the left side of the window that expands and allows you to select view wireless networks. If your wifi card is on, which it seems to be from your post, then you should be able to connect this way just as well.

If all does not work, always use system restore, go back to a point where you didn't have this problem, it's a lifesaver for driver issues believe me :P.
Click run, type in msconfig , and then select the system restore button and follow the onscreen prompts. Select a date when the issue wasn't happening.

Hope this helps, stay spicy and happy lappying!
Be sure to rate! :)

How do i use my built in wireless connection to connect to the internet, please.

make sure that your wireless or wifi light is on,you may try to press Fn and F2 at the same time to enable or swith on wireless..if wifi is already on,try going to start >> control panel >> network connections,go to wireless network connection and double click it, it will give you a list of wireless network,or right click and then "view available wireless network", if you get an error that windows cannot configure wireless connection,go to start >> all programs >> loo for either dell wlan utility or intel pro wireless, by opening that app,it will also search for wireless network in range, just double click on the network name where you want to connect and you sould be connected provided that "wireless network" doesnt have encryption like wpa or wep key..if your connecting to your home network, you should have wireless router at home and wireless is enabled on the router.
